Northern Cape Heat Ladies – Match Report

At the conclusion of today's fixture, our Heat Ladies went down to Border Kei by 65 runs.

After winning the toss, we elected to bowl first, restricting Border Kei to 155 all out in 49.5 overs. In reply, our ladies managed 90 all out in 32 overs.

Although the result did not go our way, there were some encouraging individual performances with the ball. Boitumelo Seikaneng finished with figures of 2/24 in her 10 overs, while Rethabile Koekoe claimed 3/22 in 9 overs. A special mention also goes to our debutant, Carissa Boje, who made a positive contribution with figures of 2/17 in 8.5 overs.

We take the lessons from today's game and look forward to bouncing back tomorrow as we free switch our attention to the T20 fixture, which gets underway at 09h30.

We remain proud of our ladies and will continue to work hard, learn and move forward together. 🏏

MATCH ABANDONED

Our match against IINYATHI has been abandoned due to a wet outfield and persistent rain, the two teams will share the points.

The highly anticipated YesPlay Pro20 Cup is finally here, with 16 domestic cricket teams coming together with one goal: to be crowned the new T20 champions for the 2026/27 season.

Last season’s champions, Dafabet Warriors, enjoyed an incredible campaign that culminated in an exciting finale against Dafabet Boland in Paarl.

They will have to do it all over again, but this time face a new challenge as Division 1 and Division 2 teams come together for one festival of T20 cricket over eight weeks.

Adding to the excitement, R2 million will be up for grabs across all 71 matches, giving fans the chance to catch their share throughout the competition.
