🏆 HOME SWEET HOME – REFLECTING ON OUR NATIONAL JOURNEY 🎯

Good Evening Knysna!

After an intense, physically and mentally demanding week at the Darts South Africa National Darts Championship in CapeTown, our team has returned home – tired, proud, and absolutely bursting with experience.

We know we went quiet on the daily updates, and we apologise for that – between the matches, the nerves, the recovery, and just trying to keep our heads in the game, posting simply had to take a backseat. But now that we're back, we're excited to flood your feeds with a massive gallery of photos from our incredible journey at the Bellville Velodrome!

HOW THE WEEK UNFOLDED:

It took our players a few days to truly find their groove – and by the time they did, there weren't many games left on the schedule. The nerves settled, the scoring became consistent, the doubles started closing with ease, and the confidence finally caught up with the talent.

But here's the thing – we never backed down. Not once. Even when the results weren't going our way early on, our players showed perseverance, resilience, and heart. They kept throwing, kept fighting, and kept believing until the very last dart.

And while the results on the scoreboard might not tell the full story, the growth, exposure, and learning that took place over those days is something you can't put a price on. Our players are returning home with their heads held high and a clear understanding of what it takes to compete at the national level.

FROM HERE ON, IT'S BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD:

The experience has shown us exactly where we need to improve, and we're hungry for it. Practice makes perfect – and we'll be putting in the work to come back stronger, sharper, and more prepared for next year's Nationals. This is just the beginning!

🎯 DAY 2 AT NATIONALS – WE'RE BACK AND READY! 💪

Good morning, Knysna!

We're bringing you a flood of photos and videos from our very first National Darts Championship experience – from the glamour of the opening ceremony, our players warming up on the boards, team photos, the stunning Velodrome setup, and most importantly, our players in the heat of competition.

And yes – you'll even see our first 180's being hit! Pure magic. ✨

A recap of Day 1 (Tuesday 14 July):

Our team stepped up against three strong associations – St Helena Bay, King Sabata, and Oudtshoorn.

We won't lie – the first match brought a case of the "first-time jitters." Nerves were high, and the darts weren't quite finding their mark. But as the games wore on, our players found their rhythm, settled into the atmosphere, and most importantly – they never lost their fighting spirit.

The camaraderie on and off the board was incredible, and we couldn't be prouder of how they carried themselves.

The scoreboard didn't show the result we hoped for, but that's darts – some days the doubles just don't fall.

Today is a new day, and we're coming back with fresh energy, sharper focus, and the same unbreakable team bond.

🎯 HISTORY IN THE MAKING – WE'VE ARRIVED! 🇿🇦

Good morning, Knysna!

Yesterday was a day we will never forget. Our team stepped onto the national stage for the very first time at the Darts South Africa National Darts Championship opening ceremony at the Bellville Velodrome.

Surrounded by the country's best players, walking in with our heads high and our hearts full – we belonged.

The energy was electric, the pride was palpable, and our players carried the spirit of Knysna with every step. From the formal parade to the last handshake, the team soaked it all in – smiles all around, nerves settled, and a fire lit for what lies ahead.

And today, the real work begins.

Our eight warriors – Brandon, Reginald, Christo, Lionel, Lubabalo, Elrico, Wayne and Dorian, led by manager Basil – will take to the oche this morning for their first official matches at the Nationals. They've trained hard, they've sacrificed, and they've earned this moment. The spirit in the camp is incredible – focused, excited, and ready to give it their absolute best.

The Association wants to give a massive thanks to Allison for keeping the team together with her words of encouragement and making sure everyone is well fed, we see your value within the team 🙏

Every single contribution, big or small, means the world to us. This isn't just about money; it's about a community that believes in its people, in its developing sports, and in the dream of putting Knysna on the national darts map. We are deeply, deeply grateful.

The Knysna Darts Association is incredibly proud to announce that our eight-member team has qualified to represent Knysna at the South African National Darts Championship – the most prestigious darts event in the country! Taking place at the Bellville Velodrome in Cape Town from 11–18 July 2026, this is a massive milestone for our newly established association and a chance to put Knysna on the national darts map.

To get our team there, we need your help! We're hosting a SNOEKBRAAI FUNDRAISER and we'd love to see the whole community come out to support our local heroes.

⏰ COLLECTION FROM: 12:00 (food will be ready from midday!)
🍽️ WHAT'S ON OFFER: Delicious snoek, served with 2 salads and "rooster brood" – all for just R70 per meal!

Every plate sold brings us one step closer to covering accommodation, transport, meals, team shirts and essential equipment for our nine-member travelling squad.

We are thrilled to share that Knysna Darts Association will be represented at the 2026 SA National Darts Championship – the most prestigious darts event in the country!

The championship takes place from 11 – 18 July 2026 at the Bellville Velodrome in Cape Town. After competitive trials and dedicated practice, the following players have earned their spots to wear the Knysna colours and compete amongst the best of the best in South Africa:
