π HOME SWEET HOME β REFLECTING ON OUR NATIONAL JOURNEY π―
Good Evening Knysna!
After an intense, physically and mentally demanding week at the Darts South Africa National Darts Championship in CapeTown, our team has returned home β tired, proud, and absolutely bursting with experience.
We know we went quiet on the daily updates, and we apologise for that β between the matches, the nerves, the recovery, and just trying to keep our heads in the game, posting simply had to take a backseat. But now that we're back, we're excited to flood your feeds with a massive gallery of photos from our incredible journey at the Bellville Velodrome!
HOW THE WEEK UNFOLDED:
It took our players a few days to truly find their groove β and by the time they did, there weren't many games left on the schedule. The nerves settled, the scoring became consistent, the doubles started closing with ease, and the confidence finally caught up with the talent.
But here's the thing β we never backed down. Not once. Even when the results weren't going our way early on, our players showed perseverance, resilience, and heart. They kept throwing, kept fighting, and kept believing until the very last dart.
And while the results on the scoreboard might not tell the full story, the growth, exposure, and learning that took place over those days is something you can't put a price on. Our players are returning home with their heads held high and a clear understanding of what it takes to compete at the national level.
FROM HERE ON, IT'S BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD:
The experience has shown us exactly where we need to improve, and we're hungry for it. Practice makes perfect β and we'll be putting in the work to come back stronger, sharper, and more prepared for next year's Nationals. This is just the beginning!
A HEARTFELT THANK YOU:
π To every single supporter who sent a message, left a comment, or spoke a word of encouragement β we felt every bit of it. Your words truly gave our players a boost on game days. Knowing Knysna was behind us made all the difference.
π’ To our incredible sponsors β we couldn't have done this without you:
Β· Breaking Chains β our main sponsor for apparel and so much more. Your belief in us gave our team the confidence to walk onto that national stage looking and feeling like champions.
Β· Knysna Municipality β for your continued support of local sport development in our community.
Β· CX Roofing & CX Aluminium β for your financial contribution and backing us every step of the way.
Β· Tusker Construction β for your generosity and commitment to our association.
Β· Virgil (Bafuis owner) β for your financial contribution and for always having our back.
A very special mention to Natalie Bewee and Ryan of CX Distributors β your sponsorship towards our snoekbraai fundraiser was absolutely instrumental. That event's success gave us the financial foundation we needed to get our team to Cape Town. We are deeply grateful! π½οΈπ―
π½οΈ A big thank you to Anja and her father from On Brenton Restaurant β your financial contribution to the winning team in our friendly match against Brenton On Target, held at your venue just a week before the Nationals, gave our players that extra boost of confidence and momentum heading into the big event. We truly appreciate your generosity and support of local darts! π
π‘ To the broader Knysna community β thank you for always rallying behind our fundraisers, for buying those snoekbraai plates, for sharing our posts, and for believing in us. Community support like this is the backbone of development, and we are forever grateful.
π€ And last but certainly not least β to every single member of the Knysna Darts Association. Your countless hours of work behind the scenes, your willingness to always step up, your contributions big and small, and your unwavering team spirit made all of this possible. This was a collective effort, and we couldn't be prouder of what we've achieved together as a family.
