Krugersdorp Chess Club, in partnership with uniMates Chess Club, will be hosting a special *Chess Coaching Weekend* for *Primary School and High School players*.

📅 *19 & 20 September 2026*
📍 *Khosa Sports Club, Krugersdorp*

*Saturday:* 08:30–12:30
*Sunday:* 09:00–11:30

*Club Members:* R50 per person, per day
*Non-Club Members:* R70 per person, per day

Players can select *Saturday, Sunday, or both coaching sessions* when registering.

The Gauteng Closed Chess Championship is coming!

On 17 October 2026, players will battle it out over the board for the opportunity to claim their place in the Gauteng team competing at the Mzansi Youth Inter-Provincial Team Chess Championship in December.

This is more than just a tournament—it is your chance to compete, represent Gauteng and pave your way towards earning Gauteng Sport Confederation and/or Gauteng Province Federation colours!

🔒 Please note: This is a closed, invitation-only event. Players cannot enter directly. Participants will be selected and entered by their respective chess regions.

Congratulations, Caleb Ackermann!

Krugersdorp Chess Club is incredibly proud of Caleb for an outstanding performance at the Eureka Open, held on 1 August 2026 in Sedibeng.

Caleb competed in Section F – U10 and delivered a flawless tournament, winning all five of his games to finish in 1st place with a perfect score of 5/5.

He started the tournament ranked 4th, achieved an impressive performance rating of 2170, and defeated several strong opponents along the way, including the top-seeded player rated 1650.

This was not just a tournament victory, it was a statement showing confident, composed and dominant performance from start to finish.

Well done, Caleb! Your hard work, discipline and fighting spirit continue to shine. Keep pushing, keep learning and keep making Krugersdorp Chess Club proud!
