What a beautiful Saturday morning at Ladysmith parkrun! ☀️

A fantastic 117 runners, joggers and walkers enjoyed a perfect, warm morning with us. A very special welcome to all our first-timers and visitors!

Today we welcomed Richard and Rachel Arnott, who joined us all the way from England 🇬🇧. Richard completed some of his army training in Ladysmith many years ago, and today he returned to do a very different kind of training — parkrun style! 😄🏃🏽‍♂️

Rachel, thank you for your lovely compliment about our beautiful venue. We’re so glad you enjoyed your morning with us!

🏉 And what a weekend for Springboks
rugby! 🇿🇦🇳🇿

Congratulations to the Springboks on their win over the All Blacks. 🏆🇿🇦 A great rivalry, but always with friendship, respect and good sportsmanship between two proud rugby nations. Well played to both teams! 🇿🇦🤝🇳🇿

A huge thank you to everyone who comes out and supports Ladysmith parkrun, whether you are running, walking, volunteering, cheering from the sidelines or simply encouraging someone to take that first step. Your support helps make our parkrun community so special. ❤️

Ladysmith Parkrun Event #415 ☀️🏃‍♀️

What a beautiful, sunny morning at Event #415 — it’s starting to feel almost like spring! 🌸 We had 119 runners and walkers cross the finish line, with plenty of first-timers and visitors joining us once again.🤩

🥳A special welcome to Greg Kanter, visiting from Norm-Hudlin Trails parkrun in Port Elizabeth. It was great to have you with us!

Today we also celebrated two fantastic volunteer milestones:

🏅 Zaheera Mulla — 250 volunteer occasions
🏅 Corrie Pieterse — 150 volunteer occasions

Congratulations to both of you, and thank you for your incredible dedication to parkrun and our community. 🙌

A huge thank you as well to all our volunteers who give their time and energy each week to make Ladysmith parkrun possible. Your contribution is truly appreciated.🥳

We’re also very grateful to the Country Club for allowing us to use these wonderful facilities. We’re incredibly blessed to enjoy the outdoors within the beautiful surroundings of the golf course. 🌿

🏃‍♀️❄️ A Chilly but Beautiful
Ladysmith parkrun!

With snow still sitting proudly on the nearby Drakensberg mountains thanks to Veronica Du Plessis Nel for the photograph of it, today brought us a slightly warmer morning at 8°C. Despite the winter chill our stats are consistent with 93 runners, joggers and walkers who came out to enjoy the beautiful outdoors, blue skies, still conditions and stunning scenery at our amazing Ladysmith Country Club Venue 🥐☕️💙🏔️

A warm welcome to all our first-timers and visitors, including visitors from as far as Canada! 🇨🇦 We also welcomed Christel and Allan from Pietermaritzburg🍾, who stopped by to join us. They were full of praise🙌 for our beautiful venue and asked us to pass on their thanks to all our wonderful volunteers for their support. 🙏🏽❤️

The forecast is looking warmer for the week ahead, so set that alarm, grab your running shoes and bring a friend next Saturday before the Springboks 🇿🇦 play the All Blacks🇳🇿 on the 23rd of August 2026 in Jhb🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Let’s see if we can get 100+ parkrunners and Springboks supporters back on the start line with their green and gold 💚💛
