IMPORTANT NOTICE...for a couple of years there has been two Westcoast Warriors pages running simultaneously. This happened due to me changing the name of the old "Great Shark Bait Swim" Page to "Westcoast Warriors", thinking the two would be able to be "merged". This has not been possible.
I would now like to ask all the Followers of this FB page (307 as of tonight 19th Jan) to Follow the other Westcoast Warriors FB page if you would still like to be part of this community (and if you are not already a follower on the other page).

This will make life a lot easier as I will then only need to post to the one page in future rather than having to duplicate everything.
I will also be posting the details of the 2026 Great Shark Bait Swim in a couple of days - so watch this space (And "SAVE the DATE" of Saturday 21st March)

Westcoast Warriors congratulates John Flanagan from the Topaz Swim Group in Blouberg for his record breaking swim at the age of 80 from Robben Island to Blouberg. What a Star ! Hope to have you as a celebrity swimmer at the Great Shark Bait Swim this year in Langebaan.

Westcoast Warriors took 4th place in the annual Breezathon team triathlon today.

It is with great disappointment that the social Run/Swim at Saldanha Bay Beach has to be postponed to next year. The most recent water quality report advises unacceptable levels right where we would be swimming. This will clear in due course but we just can't take the risk right now. Thanks to all who were planning to be there, and to Blue Bay Lodge for their support.

The Saldanha Run/Swim Social is on for Saturday 6th Dec starting at 8am. Please be at Blue Bay Lodge at 7:30 so we can get together before the start. Blue Bay are providing a coffee after the event.
The Run / Swim distances for each leg are shown below.
The run is along the beach on hard sand so will be easy, and special shoes are not needed.
It is a "social" event and will be a fun outing - see you there !

The Saldanha Run/Swim on 6th December has changed to a social outing for anyone who would like to join us. There will just be one course (of around 4 or 5 k's) with a combination of three or four run (or walk) and swim legs. Coffee after at the Blue Bay Lodge. Start time is still 8am at the Lodge.

Team Westcoast Warriors took on the challenge of the Prison Break Triathlon and came in 6th out of 12 Team competing.

The Saldanha Run/Swim Challenge on Saturday 6th December. We can now show you the Long Course (10K) and the Short Course (5k). See the split of the run and swim legs in the table.
