LET’S PAINT LEKOKO PRIMARY SCHOOL – THE MISSION CONTINUES
The Shooting Stars Foundation, comprising Shooting Stars Social Club and Shooting Stars Ladies Football Club, is proud to announce that it has successfully mobilised and procured 100 litres of paint through its “Let’s Paint Lekoko Primary School” initiative.
The initiative was launched through the 21km Half Marathon, hosted at Lekoko Primary School, with the aim of bringing the community together to restore, uplift and improve the school environment for the benefit of learners and future generations.
The Foundation would like to express its sincere appreciation to all community members from Lekoko and surrounding areas in and around Mahikeng who participated and contributed to making the initiative possible. We extend our special gratitude to the School Governing Body (SGB), the Principal, teachers and the entire Lekoko Primary School community for welcoming and supporting this initiative.
We would also like to acknowledge our fellow compatriots and sporting communities, particularly Riverside Masters and Kings Masters, for standing with us and showing their support. Your contribution and solidarity demonstrate what can be achieved when communities unite behind a common purpose.
100 LITRES ACHIEVED – BUT THE MISSION IS NOT OVER
Although the initiative officially closed on 31 August 2026, the Foundation acknowledges that we have not yet reached our target of 500 litres of paint.
However, we do not see this as a failure. We see it as a call to action.
One hundred litres is proof that when people come together, change is possible. It represents more than paint — it represents hope, community spirit, ownership and a commitment to our children’s future.
We therefore make a renewed appeal to community members, businesses, organisations, former learners, sporting clubs and anyone who believes in the power of education to continue supporting this cause.
You do not have to wait for another event to make a difference.
You can contribute any amount of money, a bucket of paint, painting materials or other resources, either through the Shooting Stars Foundation or directly to Lekoko Primary School. Contributions can be made under your own name or in the name of an organisation, association, club or group you represent.
OUR MESSAGE IS SIMPLE: EVERY LITRE COUNTS. EVERY CONTRIBUTION COUNTS. EVERY HAND COUNTS.
A school is more than a building. It is where dreams begin.
The condition of a child’s learning environment can influence how they see themselves, their school and their community. By helping restore Lekoko Primary School, we are not simply putting paint on walls — we are investing in dignity, pride and the future of our children.
The Shooting Stars Foundation remains committed to this mission and will not stop until the target is reached and the vision of “Let’s Paint Lekoko Primary School” becomes a reality.
We call upon everyone to join us in finishing what we started.
500 LITRES IS THE TARGET.
100 LITRES HAS ALREADY BEEN ACHIEVED.
LET’S COMPLETE THE JOURNEY TOGETHER.
Let’s Paint Lekoko Primary School.
Let’s restore its pride.
Let’s give our children a school they can be proud of.
Because when a community comes together, even the biggest challenge becomes achievable.
“We may not have reached the target yet, but we have already proven that the spirit of Ubuntu is alive. The first 100 litres came from ordinary people who chose to do something extraordinary. Now we call upon many more to join us. Together, we can reach 500 litres. Together, we can transform Lekoko Primary School. Together, we can leave a legacy.”
