History of Swartland Dojo
Swartland Dojo, founded in 2002 by Jeanne Steyn, proudly celebrates 24 years of dedication to the art and discipline of Goju-Ryu Karate.
For more than two decades, Swartland Dojo has been a place where students of all ages can learn, grow and develop through the practice of traditional karate.
Our training goes beyond physical techniques — it cultivates discipline, respect, perseverance, self-confidence and humility.
Goju-Ryu Karate, which combines hard and soft techniques, encourages students to develop both a strong body and a strong spirit.
Through regular practice and dedication, students are challenged to reach their full potential, both inside and outside the dojo.
Over the past 24 years, Swartland Dojo has built a proud tradition founded on friendship, family, dedication and excellence.
We remain committed to preserving the values and traditions of Goju-Ryu Karate, while helping every student develop the skills, character and self-confidence needed to face life’s challenges.
In its 24 years, Swartland Dojo has produced 40 black belts!
24 years of tradition.
24 years of dedication.
24 years of building strong bodies, strong spirit and strong character.
