All’s set for the Club Champs finals, taking place in seven days’ time (Friday, 12 June)!
Who will lift the title and etch their name into club history?
A new men’s champion will be crowned after defending champion JC Kruger was eliminated by Wernich Rossouw in the semifinals. Rossouw’s unseeded opponent, Reinhardt Trollip, has enjoyed a giant-killing run, defeating three seeded players, including last year’s finalist, Joshua Hoffman, in the semifinals.

In the women’s section, the top two seeds will battle for the crown: Chané Steyn (1) 🆚 Simoné Swart (2).
It’s the defending champion, Swart, against the challenger, Steyn. Steyn is chasing her first Club Champs title, while Swart is aiming to add another championship to her growing collection.

For the first time in many years, the Club Champs are bursting with entries as members battle for the honour of being crowned the club’s best player in both the singles and doubles events.
Action got underway on Monday, 11 May at 16:00 with Wiseman Nkambule defeating Sthembiso Thusi 6-1, 6-3. Since then, the tournament has delivered thrilling encounters and high-quality tennis. The Club Champs are sponsored by Mopani Pharmacy.
In the women’s section, top seeds Chanè Steyn (1) and Simonè Swart (2) remain on course for a blockbuster final. Swart, the defending champion, has continued her dominant run, while Steyn is chasing her maiden Club Champs title after recently competing in the Mbombela Open Global Series ITF W15 event.
The men’s section has produced major upsets, with second seed Joshua Hoffman (2) falling in the semi-finals to giant-killer Reinhardt Trollip. Trollip has enjoyed a remarkable run, defeating Teddy Ndlazi (8) 6-1, 6-0, Sandisile Mkhatshwa (4) 6-2, 6-0, and Hoffman 6-1, 6-0. He now awaits the winner of the second semi-final between top seed JC Kruger (1) and Wernich Rossouw (3).
“We’re happy with the quality of tennis that has been displayed thus far. The finals promise to deliver the goods,” said tournament director Mlungisi Donald Chauke
The finals will be played next week. Follow our social media platforms for fixtures and updates.
