Nelspruit Climbing Shed

Some of The Climbing Shed members headed to Waterval Boven on 11 July for a fantastic day climbing at the crags.

It was an exciting day for several climbers who experienced outdoor rock climbing for the very first time, including Josh, our youngest climber of the day, as well as Dylan and Hannes. We were also delighted to welcome Claudio, who joined us all the way from Switzerland!

Our oldest member, Steven, once again proved that climbing is a sport for all ages, inspiring everyone with his climbing ability.

We spent the day at the Flying is Fun sector, which offers plenty of safe beginner-friendly routes alongside more challenging climbs for experienced climbers. With lots of routes to choose from, everyone had the opportunity to challenge themselves and see how far they could climb.

A big thank you to Nikki, Michael, and Jan for helping set up routes and belaying throughout the day. Your support made it possible for everyone to enjoy a safe and rewarding climbing experience.

Thank you also to Philip for joining us as a parent—and for getting on the rock and climbing a few routes himself!

It was a wonderful day of climbing, encouragement, and great company. We can't wait for the next adventure!

Oshee climbing pics

Some of our climbers enjoyed an eventful morning of bouldering at Kaapsehoop on Saturday, 4 April. They took on "The Traverse" and tested their strength and skill on the "Battleship" boulder - showing great determination throughout the session.

Wednesday, 25 February was a great session at the Climbing Shed!
We had a good turnout and the response to the boulder problems was really positive. It’s encouraging to see climbers enjoying the routes and challenging themselves.
Thanks to everyone who came through — we love seeing the climbing community grow!
