This weekend, South African talent will be flying the flag in international endurance racing once again 🇿🇦
At the GT World Challenge Europe 3 Hours of Monza, we'll be keeping an eye on Kelvin van der Linde, Jordan Pepper, and David Perel as they take on one of the most iconic circuits in world motorsport 🙌🏼
Across the Atlantic, Sheldon van der Linde heads to the IMSA Detroit Sports Car Classic, continuing his campaign in one of North America's most competitive sportscar championships 🔥
From all of us at the Southern African Endurance Series, we'd like to wish every South African driver the very best for the weekend ahead.
Race hard, stay safe, and make the country proud 🇿🇦👏
We'll be following along from home.

Anyone can be quick for a lap.
Six hours is something else entirely… 😳
Tyres lose grip. Drivers fade. Traffic never stops. One mistake costs more here than anywhere else 😅
That’s why endurance racing hits differently when you see it live, because you start to understand what’s actually going on beneath it.
Killarney is tight, busy, with nowhere to hide (plus pretty awesome views of Table Mountain)
And around it, it’s still a proper day out, with food, drinks, kiddies activities, market stalls, and space to step away and come back without missing the bigger picture.
Save this so you don’t forget the date.

Most pit-lane stories start with speed; Juan Stander’s started with solving a real-world problem.
In 2012, he founded Old Oil Boys after seeing how dumped waste oil polluted water systems. What began with workshop collection containers quickly expanded.
Today it collects and processes 500 000+ litres of used oil a month across South Africa, while promoting responsible disposal and sustainability.
Juan brings that same commitment to the Southern African Endurance Series, racing the Ligier JS53 Evo 2 in the Sports & GT class a light, demanding car that rewards precision.
Old Oil Boys stands out in the paddock for the same reason it does off track: it’s built on passion, persistence, and hard work.

South Africans Xolile Letlaka and Stuart White continued their international GT campaign at the iconic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Round 2 of the 2026 International GT Open, held from 15 to 17 May 2026.
Racing for Into Africa Racing by Dragon Racing in one of Europe’s toughest GT3 championships, the pair took on the legendary Belgian circuit, renowned for unpredictable weather, high speeds and demanding endurance conditions.
At the wheel of the team’s Ferrari GT3, Letlaka and White delivered consistent pace throughout the weekend while gaining valuable experience against established international teams and factory-backed drivers. The event also formed part of Into Africa Racing’s expanding European programme to showcase African motorsport talent on the global stage.
The duo finished 10th in the ProAm class at Spa in a highly competitive field, completing 70 laps at speeds of 181 km/h to secure another valuable finish and important championship mileage in this endurance-focused round.
The weekend again underlined the ambition of Into Africa Racing’s international programme, as African drivers continue to gain exposure on some of endurance racing’s biggest stages.

The 2026 24 Hours Nürburgring once again proved why the Nordschleife remains one of the toughest endurance races in world motorsport, and South African talent was right in the middle of the action throughout the weekend.
Leading the charge was Sheldon van der Linde, who delivered another strong performance for ROWE Racing in the BMW M4 GT3 EVO. Sheldon and his teammates brought the #99 BMW home in an impressive fourth overall after 24 gruelling hours around the Green Hell.
His brother, Kelvin van der Linde, together with Jordan Pepper, were among the favourites heading into the event after topping qualifying pace for ROWE Racing. The pair showed front-running speed throughout the race, but their challenge ultimately ended in heartbreak after reliability issues forced their BMW out of contention before the finish, resulting in a DNF despite running strongly for much of the event
David Perel competed in the SP9 Pro category with the REALIZE KONDO Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo. Perel and the team showed competitive pace during the weekend and continued to build valuable Nürburgring experience in one of the most competitive GT3 fields in the world.
South African rising star Leyton Fourie also took on the legendary Nordschleife challenge. Fourie was part of the Nürburgring 24 Hour field and gained more valuable international endurance racing exposure against some of the best GT drivers in the world.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Mogotsi made headlines with his Nürburgring 24 Hour debut for Max Kruse Racing in the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport 24h. Mogotsi’s appearance marked another milestone for South African motorsport representation on the global endurance stage, showcasing the growing pipeline of local talent competing internationally.
From factory BMW efforts to GT3 Ferrari campaigns and touring car entries, South African drivers once again showed they belong on the world stage at one of motorsport’s most demanding endurance races. The 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours highlighted not only the depth of South African talent, but also the resilience, pace and determination required to survive — and succeed — at the Green Hell.
