A technical specialist who treats the boulder fields like a playground, Robbie Rorich has raced the Otter enough times to know exactly where it’s won and lost. 🪨

“For me, you almost have to find your depth,” he said after taking the win. 🗣️

He also admitted the plan “possibly worked.” Judging by the finish, we’d say it definitely did.

Wet rock, low mist, and a trail that gave no one an easy line today. Even Bianca Tarboton, who already holds more consecutive Otter titles than anyone in the race’s history, found herself fighting the conditions every step of the way.

“I slipped a lot of times,” she said, “it was really hard to stay in it and keep pushing.” 🗣️

That’s the mentality that separates champions from the rest: not avoiding the hard moments, but pushing through them anyway. 🏆

Three years after her first Otter set her on this path, Mila Geldenhuys sat eleventh after the Prologue and clawed her way onto the podium when it mattered most. A few steps behind her, Nadia Booyens was doing something even harder, taking on this course for the very first time and walking away with a podium finish. And at the front of it all, Bianca Tarboton did what Bianca does.
