THE FINAL HUNT OF THE SEASON

A fitting way to close the season at Appelsfontein Game Lodge — with a magnificent Eland bull from the Gamka Mountains.

The final stalk, the final shot, and one last unforgettable experience in the Karoo before the hunting season comes to an end.

A season filled with challenging hunts, beautiful animals and memories that will last long after the ri**es are packed away.

Until next season…

THE FINAL WEEK OF THE SEASON

Another sunrise over Appelsfontein Game Lodge.

As we enter the final week of the hunting season, there’s something special about watching the sun rise over the Karoo — knowing that every sunrise, every stalk and every moment in the veld is part of a season that will soon become a memory.

One final week.
One final chapter.
And plenty of memories still to be made.

Reeds, twigs, leaves and even small rocks — the Familiar Chat carefully gathering whatever it needs to build its nest. Nature’s little architect at work. 🌿

Reenen finally leaves the mountains without a Barbary sheep on his back… but thankfully, he doesn’t have to carry it alone! 😂🏔️🐏

With a little help from the clients, the mountain recovery team gets the job done. 💪

High above the valleys, where the air is thin and the mountains unforgiving — the pursuit of a mature Barbary sheep ram comes down to patience, endurance and one well-earned opportunity. 🏔️🐏

A true mountain hunt. A hard-earned trophy. An unforgettable adventure.

The challenge of loading a massive eland bull! 💪

A trophy this size doesn’t make it easy. From the hunt to the recovery, every step comes with its own challenge — but that’s all part of the privilege of pursuing an enormous eland bull in the African bush.

Big bull. Big challenge. Unforgettable hunt. 🇿🇦

🏆 A Privilege Beyond Words

A hunt for an enormous trophy eland bull — a true giant of the veld.

Moments like this are about far more than the trophy. They are about the privilege of walking the African bush, the challenge of the hunt, and the respect earned for an extraordinary animal.

An eland of this calibre is a privilege that few hunters will ever experience. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity, the memories, and the magnificent wild country that made it possible.

A hunt to remember. A bull to honour. A privilege to cherish.
