All at SCRUM5IVE are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Lorenzo Darries this morning.

A true pillar of his community, a fighter until the end and just one of the best people we've met on this journey.

He helped promote our work on national television, never stopped smiling and it was our honour to help his childhood club Retreat Rugby Football Club with kit last year!

He will be truly missed and his smile will be remembered by us all forever.

Rest in Peace Lorenzo, our dear friend.

As you know, Scimitar Custom and Scimitar Storm are massively valuable partners to us as well as Rugby Recycled and the work that we do in the community.

They are celebrating 20 YEARS in the industry in this year and we can't thank them enough for donating kit to us and helping the future sports stars in South Africa.

Another amazing foundation doing unreal work! We're very proud to be associated with the Coach Deon Davids Foundation.

I was reminded in a recent interview about how telling your personal story challenges one to face some buried emotions and just generally how difficult it can be to share.

Sometimes I have to swallow hard to compose myself and carry on, but I believe that in sharing someone else gets a strand of hope, a lesson or just a perspective they can hold onto to give them direction or the fuel they need to pick up their dreams again.

What a privilege to have access to platforms in the media to reach people I would not be able to get to in person. I'm so grateful for these moments even though behind the smiles, there are definite nerves, raw emotions and doubts sometimes.

The unplanned ones are always the best.....

Coach Wes contacted us to help 2 Primary Schools in Paarl so the next day we answered......filled the boot and away we went to Klein Nederburg Primary School and then on to Sonop Primêr .

Adrian Frost captured the moment brilliantly as always.

Thank you to Our Shoes for collaborating with us and as always the UK in South Africa for introducing us to them!!

A picture paints way more than a thousand words when Adrian Frost is taking the photos.

A superb kit drop off and training session with Vlakkeland Blitzies this week. Shane and his coaches are undertaking the immense job of training over 90 players of all ages during the week in the evening on a piece of ground that they have turned in to their 'Newlands'.

New shirts for the Junior team and full kit for the U19's will see the guys run out in the same kit as each other for the first time ever.

A brotherhood has been cemented.
