The 2019/2020 KZN Inland Premier League Season is Here!

The KZN Inland Premier League started off with the T20 competition. Unfortunately Newcastle Cricket Club only managed 1/4 victories with 2 narrow losses, however there were individual performances that shouldn’t go unnoticed as the boys work towards the bigger 50 over campaign.

Husain Essop opened his season with a quick 84 runs of 69 deliveries against Zingari CC, followed up by 68 runs off 47 balls against Standard CC.

Daud Mamji claimed 3 wickets for 28 runs in 3 overs against Zingari CC.

Graham Sharp scored a ton finishing on 103* off just 78 balls against Greytown CC.

Sandile Hlatshwayo claimed a hatrick against Greytown CC bowling 4 overs for 35 runs and taking 3 wickets.

Premier League stats as at the end of February 2019 and our boys are up amongst the best!🏏🔥

Well batted to Mr Henri Linde on his knock of 53 against Standard this weekend in Pietermaritzburg. It’s his second of the premier league season thus far, and we hope to see many more🏏

Newcastle batted first against Standard and Posted 161 all out and Standard posted 162-2 to win the game. Not the result we hoped for but well played to Standard who are undefeated this season👏.

Sealed a win today! After being put in to bat first, Newcastle were in trouble being 87-7 after 20 overs but managed to finish on 252 all out after 43.5 overs thanks to 2 brilliant knocks by Arslan Butt who scored 92 and Henri Linde 84 which put a defendable total on the board. With the ball in hand NCC managed to bowl out Cosmos for 107 and won convincingly by 145 runs. Dean Lambert took 4 wickets for 25 runs, bowling 10 overs including 4 maidens as well as Graham Sharp who took 3 wickets for 17 runs bowling 3 maidens in his 7 overs 👏. A big win for the boys! 🏏💯🔥

Good game against Lancashire, unfortunate to have lost it needing 2 wickets to win, but will be back stronger🏏 Newcastle made 177 all out and Lancashire finished on 178 after 30 overs. Congratulations to Arslan Butt on his 51 of 88 balls as well as Nishen Ramduth claiming 3 wickets for 51 runs in 8 overs and Johan Jacobs who bowled 7 overs 3 maidens claiming 1 wicket for 26 runs. Was a good game of cricket and congratulations to Lancashire on their win🏏.

NCC starts of with a victory against Young Natallions. NCC were put in to bat and ended on 230 all out after 48 overs. Sohail Gori played a superb knock of 111 of 99 balls followed by Arshad Desai assisting with 34 and Nishen Ramduth 20. NCC managed to wrap up the game bowling Young Natallions out for 79 in 23 overs. Arslan Butt took 4 wickets in 4 overs for 16 runs followed by Sandile Hlatshwayo who bowled 7 overs including 4 maidens and took 3 wickets for just 5 runs. A well deserved victory!
