For those who dont know, we have also been really busy making and modifying the rod racks. Thanks to a fellow bassfisherman, who suggested we modify the rack to fit 10 rods with reels on each side, instead of missing a slots on the standard 30 rod stand, the cross piece is slightly longer.

For the record this works for things like brooms, rakes etc and even pool ques in a games room ;)

The next question is going to be how much, I am working on it.

What about pontoons, I am going to leave that open for you to decide, I will check pricing with suppliers and charge a small handling fee if you want me to supply the kicboat complete.

Some other good news, I have person who can weld ally like pro and people who can bend the square tube, it’s going to get interesting 😀

I am looking for a new chair supplier, my supplier has lost the plot, I battle to get hold of them and they have a 6 weeks waitiing period and the other suppliers chairs slpit.

I have a plan for the rod holders, but looking for a company that can cut the foam.

The plan is standardize everything, to include all the holes, rivnuts etc to every component so that if you want to start withthe absolute basics just a frame, seat and pontoons, you can add anything, the holes will be pre drilled so you can order and fit.

Something else i have been thinking about, is opening up a Staurday morning to encourage youngesters to build thier own kickboat, with my experience, tools and spares, i could prepare kits ready assemble and let the youngster assemble them and I believe the satisfaction of building thier own kickboat would just make the experience that much better.

When I started kickboat fishing, it was an affordable way to move from bank fishing onto the water. A group called the Puddle Hoppers was formed, and the kickboat community has grown into what it is today.

Part of the fun was actually building a kickboat. I recall many nights and weekends spent with Rory, planning and upgrading different models, tweaking them to suit specific applications. We built versions that could fit into a Caddy van, then a Polo, and later onto the back of a bakkie. We even built some with umbrella stands.

You can buy a complete kickboat from a number of suppliers, but building one from scratch is quite a challenge. I have spoken to many people who would like to build their own kickboat, or who need to add accessories and upgrades to an existing one.

Starting this week, I have begun building basic frames and will be offering custom-built kickboats, kits, and individual components. For many people, the arches are the most challenging part to make, so you will be able to purchase just the arches or a complete frame, as shown in the picture.

Whether you are building a kickboat from scratch, repairing an existing one, or looking for upgrades, I will be able to supply the parts you need.
