Is It Okay to Train the Same Muscles Every Workout?
This is one of the biggest myths in training… that you need a set amount of time—24, 48, even 72 hours—before you can train a muscle again. The truth? Recovery isn’t a fixed timeline. It depends.
First, the size of the muscle. Smaller muscle groups (like shoulders and arms) tend to recover faster than larger ones (like quads, glutes, and back). Second, the volume of work you do. If you go in and hit legs with 8–12 hard sets in one workout, there’s a good chance you’ll be sore for days. That’s not recovery magic—that’s just a lot of stress in one session.
Here’s where most women get it wrong: they think they need to destroy a muscle in one workout and then wait days before training it again. More volume in one session does not mean better results.
There’s a better way to train. Instead of crushing a muscle once a week, you can train it more frequently with smarter, more controlled volume. Fewer sets per workout, better recovery between sessions, and more total quality work over time.
You don’t need to feel wrecked to make progress. You need a plan you can recover from and repeat.
