As we stand together at the threshold of a new year, we, the Eastern R.F.C. family, want to take a moment to reflect on the journey we've shared. It's been a tough year, but it's also been a year of growth, of learning, and of becoming.

To our incredible Eastern R.F.C. family,

As we gather to celebrate Christmas, my heart goes out to each and every one of you. This year has been tough, on and off the field. We've faced setbacks, disappointments, and heartbreak. We've lost a player, and we've struggled to find our footing.

But in the midst of it all, I want you to know that we're not defined by our losses or our struggles. We're defined by our strength, our resilience, and our unwavering commitment to each other.

As we take a step back from the rugby pitch and focus on what truly matters, I urge you to hold onto hope. Hold onto the memories of triumphs, the thrill of competition, and the bonds of brotherhood.

IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS THAT WE ANNOUNCE THE PASSING OF OUR BELOVED TEAMMATE AND FRIEND, LIYABONA "PRINCE" DAKADA.

Eastern RFC family, friends, and supporters, it is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Prince's passing on Sunday, 19th October 2025.

A memorial service will be held in his honor on Wednesday, 22nd October 2025. Please join us at Guide's Tarven at 16:30 where we will walk to where we'll hold the memorial service, dressed in all black or sports wear.

In remembrance of Prince, we kindly request that you bring your own candles to the service.

Rest in peace, Prince. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

CNGRATULATIONS PALESA NQADINI!!!

We're beyond proud of our very own Palesa Nqadini for making the SA Rugby Under-16 Elite Player Development squad. Joining the girls' camp in Paarl is a testament to her incredible talent, dedication, and perseverance!

Palesa's rugby journey is truly inspiring:

- She joined Eastern R.F.C in 2023 with a passion that shone brighter than the rest, quickly making a name for herself with her impressive skills and commitment to the sport.
- In 2024, she was appointed as one of the leaders of the Eastern R.F.C Queens, showcasing her natural leadership abilities and inspiring her teammates with her work ethic and positivity.
- Her hard work paid off in 2025 when she was selected to represent Eastern Province Rugby Union Under-16 Girls at FNB Girls Week in Pretoria, where she demonstrated her talent on a bigger stage.
- And to top it all off, she was appointed CAPTAIN of the team, a testament to her leadership skills and ability to inspire her teammates.

Now, as she joins the SA Rugby Under-16 Elite Player Development squad, we're honored to have Palesa represent Eastern R.F.C and can't wait to see what the future holds for her! KUBO MNTANOMGQUBA! KUBO BHARIBHARI! ❤️🖤
