Iviwe Sizani: Journey to her chess dream

I’m 9 years old and this is my chess journey, that started in the school classroom through the Chess For Change Program.

In less than 2 years of playing, through determination I’ve obtained Provincial Chess Colours and represented my country in Sri Lanka.

17 December 2025 - after 2 and a half days of team championship, the individual championship started. Tired as she was, she gathered some strength to move up the ranking from 7th to 6th position in the country, for her age group. Well… 2025 was the year of SIX SEVEN…🤪😂
