COMBINED EASTERN CAPE SCHOOL RANKINGS – 04 JUNE 2026

We all love checking the rankings for our favourite age group, but sometimes it's just as interesting to see where a school stands as a rugby programme overall.

After numerous requests from our followers, we've put together the Combined Eastern Cape School Rankings. These rankings take into account a school's performance across all major rugby age groups – U14A, U15A, U16A and 1st XV – to provide a broader picture of where each school currently sits in the Eastern Cape rugby landscape.

We've also included Bergsig Skool Uitenhage, an LSEN school, on the rankings. With Bonzai competing in the U14 age group in the Bergsig fixtures, they qualify to feature alongside the other schools in this combined ranking system.

The aim is simple: to give parents, supporters, players and old boys a snapshot of how their favourite school is performing as a whole, rather than focusing on just one team.

Important: To qualify for the Combined Rankings, a school must have all four teams (U14A, U15A, U16A and 1st XV) ranked on SA School Sports. Schools missing rankings in any of these age groups cannot be included in the combined standings.

So, where does your school rank when all four age groups are taken into account?

Let us know what you think of the Combined Rankings and whether your school is climbing or slipping in the race to be crowned the Eastern Cape's strongest overall rugby programme.

Hoërskool Despatch vs Hoër Tegniese skool Daniel Pienaar Technical High School 1st XV on 23 May 2026 was one of those games where it just looked like Despatch wanted to kick it up a gear and then DP would hit right back. Ending in a draw, this one had you on the tip of your seat all the way to the end.

RUGBY REVOLUTION NOTICE 🚨

Sad to say that we are suspending all age group rankings until further notice.

On the latest available rankings, we found:
• 8 schools in both the U14 & 1st XV rankings where last weekend’s games were not updated.
• 3 schools in both the U15 & U16 rankings where results were also still outstanding.

Some of these missing results directly impact the Top 3 in certain age groups, while others affect positions inside the Top 20.

Although rankings are meant to be fun and create excitement around schoolboy rugby, we know many players, parents, and supporters take them seriously and eagerly wait for updates after a good weekend of rugby. Posting rankings now, knowing they could change immediately once results are updated, would not be fair to all teams involved.

We are therefore giving our preferred source, SA School Sports, additional time to update all fixtures and results correctly before continuing with the rankings.

Fixtures, results, news, and all other rugby content will continue as normal during this period.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support.

ONE GAME. ONE FAMILY. ONE REVOLUTION. 🏉
