Rugby Revolution Update

Rugby Revolution took a step back during the 2025 season to focus on new ventures — and to enjoy the game again from the sidelines as supporters and parents.

It’s been a belter of a year for school rugby. Some 1st teams delivered outstanding performances, while others found themselves in rebuilding phases, laying the foundation for future success. Looking ahead, the 2026 season promises to be one of the most competitive yet in the high school arena.

On the junior front, several Primary Schools that have been showing steady promise over the past few years finally stepped up and made their mark. At the same time, a few of the traditionally dominant schools fell short of their usual high standards — a reminder that rugby never stops evolving.

So, who will emerge as the dark horses in 2026? Who will break into that elusive Top 10 in South Africa? In the build-up to next season, we’ll take a closer look at the movers and shakers of 2025, and hopefully sit down with more coaches to get their insight.

For the boys heading into high school next year — don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. We’ll be chatting to some of the country’s top school fitness coaches to give you an early edge on how to stay sharp and prepared before diving into the world of high school rugby.
