ISR Vanessa - Infant Swimming Resource

Directions Website

ISR Vanessa - Infant Swimming Resource ISR is the safest and most effective survival swimming program for children age 6 months to 6 years.

Infant Swimming Resource’s Self-Rescue survival swimming program is a 4-6 week course, scheduled 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, for 10 minutes each day. With a focus on safe, customized, one-on-one lessons by certified Instructors, ISR’s survival swimming lessons emphasize health, ongoing program evaluations and parent education to deliver the most effective and safest results in the industry. Children may begin lessons at 6 months of age until 6 years of age. Lessons for a 6-12 month old focus on teaching the child to roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe, and to be able to maintain this life-saving position until help arrives. Lessons for children 1-6 years old focus on teaching the swim-float-swim survival sequence. Children learn to swim with their head down; roll onto their back to float, rest, and breathe; and roll back over to resume swimming until they reach the side of the pool, where they can either crawl out or until they can be rescued. Once the children are fully skilled they will practice ISR’s survival techniques fully clothed during lessons. It is recommended that children complete refresher lessons to help their in-water skill level grow with their physical development.

This little swimmer is a perfect example. Five weeks ago, she wasn’t doing what you see today. With time, consistency, and support, her skills—and her confidence—have grown beautifully. 🌸
ISR lessons go beyond water safety—we’re building resilience, determination, and confidence for life 💪 💙

The best things don’t happen overnight ❤️
The first couple of weeks of ISR can feel overwhelming while your little one gets used to a new instructor, a new pool, and a new routine. But with a bit of time and lots of calm, positive energy, students eventually settle in beautifully 🥹
There’s real science behind the ISR “magic,” and consistency matters for every student. Your instructor will keep making small customized adjustments along your child’s learning journey to create the safest, most effective lesson...
just for them 🫶

“Mommy, I’m floating!” 🥰

06/07/2026

This video shows ISR self-rescue skills in action- an age appropriate swim, a smooth and swift turn to find the surface from a fully face-in position, and calmly maintaining a floating posture once there. Impressive but also life saving! This little fella is fully clothed because so many accidents happen when a child is not supposed to be swimming 😞Only when children are fully skilled do we give them the opportunity to practice in different clothing, helping them to be more prepared should the unthinkable ever happen 💪
