This is how we do it…….

What a roller coaster it’s been so far this weekend. Friday 1st session practice and the clutch decides it’s had enough. Took the car back to the workshop, replace clutch. Got back to the track at 15h45. Qualifying was at 17h00, carburetor decided it time to test patience. 1 lap and pulled it in. Stripped carbs, checked floats, put back all together. Problem seemed sorted. Saturday started from P24. Got up to 8th before race 1 was red flagged. At the restart, car is dead and won’t start. Push started and joined last at the restart of race 1. Finished 7th but not without an infringement going into T1. Managed to put in a PB so very happy with that but what a frustrating weekend so far. Will start race 2 from P13 and hope to just bring it home. Thanks Boet for all the hard work and long hours spent. We’ll ride this wave out. 🚘🏁

All in all a brilliant day with solid results at the 25th Passion for Speed. Managed a qualifying time of 1:18.0, race 1 at 1:17.3 in the cool morning air and 1:17.4 for race 2. Thanks to EVAPCO, FulRace Engineering and my race engineer, Francois Jacobs.

After being out of this office for over 12 months, it was good to finally get back to grips with my Datsun B110. After some seat time and a few minor tweaks, we managed to qualify a respective second for tomorrow’s Pre-80 race for classes F, G and H. Obviously the new number helped us. Big thanks to Francois Jacobs and FulRace.

It’s again that time of the year again and this year is the 25th Passion For Speed to be held at Zwartkops. Can’t wait to get back up to grips with this little beast. Still one of two finishing touches that need to be added. Can you guess my new assigned race number for this beauty? Thanks to Francios Jacobs for all the preparation for this event.
