A study by Schifino et al. (2018) measured the effects of eccentric cycling training on running economy in healthy males.
Participants did two 5 - 10.5 min sessions a week for 8 weeks at 20 to 55% of peak power output. Peak power output was determined beforehand.
Significant improvements in running economy was found after the 8-week training program.
