Some new and exciting things are happening! We have built a brand new table for our brand new team! We also got hold of a challenge set from 2020 to practice on.
This new table folds up, allowing the mission models to be stored inside as it functions as a standard table for a school class. For our practices we can then use the top half as a place to build lego without worrying about pieces falling to the ground or getting bumped over. This could also serve well for skirmishes in due course.
This year some of us from Lego Legends were working on starting 3 new teams collectively, and then Covid-19 happened. Watching the launch video was tough, I can only imagine the challenge from the perspective of established teams. We would just like to wish everyone all the best during these challenging times. Stay safe and we will hopefully be seeing you at a championship again soon.
We would just like to wish our friends Hey That's Us a big congratulations on winning first place champions award at South Africa National Championship today! Also a big congratulations to another two teams we have often interacted with over the years Tungsten Knights and DreamTeam for second and third place champions! Wishing you all the best on finding funds and preparing to represent South Africa overseas, we hope you will be able to all experience this awesome opportunity!

Unfortunately our coaches will no longer be able to coach Lego Legends in 2019 due to various factors; logistical, financial, and some political. After 5 years of growing and developing the team we are, this decision was an incredibly difficult one, and it is with a very heavy heart that we must move on. Our coaches and mentors will not be leaving the FLL family of teams, and will continue their involvement in FLL, possibly even through coaching a new team elsewhere, but currently there are no definite plans in place for this. We choose to not dwell on the negative weight of this, but rather to look back to the fun memories we have made through this journey. Here are just a few photos of highlights of our team through the years. We would like to give thanks to all the teams, coaches, judges, and parents who have helped us so much in learning and growing, we could not have done this without you. We would like to give special thanks to FLL team Hey That's Us for taking us under your wing, especially in 2016, and for all your guidance and the great example of core values and team identity you displayed through all our years of coaching. In closing, we know that this is not the end, but just a new beginning. Change is hard, but we know that the First Lego League program has grown all of us as individuals as well as a team, and we look to continue growing others through FLL.

Over the weekend we had the privilege of meeting up with three other FLL teams; Hey That's Us, Orbeez, and Garsie Robotics for some fun activities, sharing and learning from these great teams, and the chance to practice with our robot in a higher pressure environment, where we identified several improvements that are needed before nationals(Robots don't seem to handle pressure well). Thanks to everyone who was involved, we had a blast!
