Mamelodi Sundowns Will Need Their Supporters More Than Ever, In The 2025/26 Season.

In the words of Mamelodi Sundowns Chairman, Thlopie Motsepe, the team will indeed need their supporters to be behind the team in numbers in order for them to step up to the next level.

The Brazilians have proven themselves locally as well as on the world stage, winning the Betway Premiership eight times in a row, regularly challenging for the CAF Champions League, which they last won in 2016, and recently making South Africa proud when they boxed pound for pound against the best in the FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP.

For the team to continue doing well, and probably go on to win the CAF Champions League in the 2025/26 season, they will need their supporters to match the work the players are doing on the field.

The '57 Supporters' should become a thing of the past for Masandawana this season.

β€œCan we show up in numbers to Mamelodi Sundowns games? Can we lift our team when hope fades? Can we dominate away stands and turn every stadium into a display of yellow dominance?

β€œBig clubs are not defined only by silverware β€” but by the size, passion, and consistency of their supporters. This season – we need you more than ever." Thlopie Motsepe told Mamelodi Sundowns Magazine.

Filling up the stadiums might just help Mamelodi Sundowns players lift up their game a notch, and maybe, just maybe, start winning more trophies, beginning with the MTN8 title.

⚽ Banyana Banyana coach, Desiree Ellis Speaks Out:

"Its not that the players didn't want to train at . But they needed to have certain things sorted out first. We had to understand that and not force anything on the players. Once that issue was sorted out, the focus returned to football. As a former player, I understood where they were coming from" - Banyana Banyana Coach Desiree Ellis told Thabiso Mosia on Radio 2000's Game On.

"Football is a short career. They have to make sure that they get what they deserve. Obviously, I'm on the technical side, and all of that does affect my work. But you have to take a backseat and let the players do what they need to do. You can't tell them they can't do that"

" I think the team is not being celebrated enough for their achievements. Despite everything that this team has done ,there are still no sponsors coming in. This team needs more recognition and needs to be celebrated more. I'm talking about everyone involved with Banyana because I don't work alone. I have an assistant goalkeeper coach, analyst, a conditioning coach. These people put so much effort in the work that they do, but there is very little recognition"

"Banyana Banyana deserves better. And it's not just Banyana, but women's sport as a whole doesn't get the recognition. Look at KG Montjane in tennis. She has done so much, but there's little recognition. Women have to do extraordinary things to get recognition. They have to do so much. I don't think it's fair."

Jermaine Seoposenwe has spoken out about the reasons for her retirement from international football.

"The association, the coaching and the culture is why I’m retiring!

"If we as a nation say we love football as much as we say we do then we have a responsibility to bring change."

With an unconvincing Banyana Banyana having failed to defend their WAFCON title, our women's national team might be heading for a downward spiral if nothing is done to improve the situation.

Women's football must be treated with the respect it deserves, or we might see more Banyana Banyana stars retiring from international football.

βœ… Coach Manqoba Mngqithi has made it clear that he will not be dictated to by the fans criticizing him on social media based on his selection and style of play.

βœ… The message is clear, if you don't pull your weight, you won't make the starting line up, no matter how big a star you are.

βœ… He is not scared to make big decisions, as long as they will benefit the team.

βœ… He is a 'Big Boy' who is not prepared to nurse anyone's feelings/egos.

βœ… Forza Big Boy✊.

βœ… 29-year-old Lesedi Kapinga has left Orlando Pirates after making only 13 appearances for the club, including two starts.

βœ… When he left Mamelodi Sundowns, where he was underutilized, despite his obvious talent, many felt he was going to flourish at Orlando Pirates.

βœ… Unfortunately, an early termination of his contract, through mutual agreement has been announced.

βœ… At the age of 29, with his obvious talent, Kapinga should be among the players knocking on coach Hugo Broos' Bafana, but things are not happening for him.

βœ… Is he one of those overrated footballers, or is he just unlucky not to work with a coach who can get the best out of him?

βœ… With Coach Dan Malesela at Marumo Gallants' helm, considering his football philosophy, maybe Kapinga can get his groove back there, if they make a move for him.

βœ… Kaizer Chiefs, maybe?
