》October Club Shoot
_______________________

Had a great club match this past weekend. Tried pushing the pace a bit on some of the stages and as always, nothing highlights your mistakes quite like trying to go a little faster.

Made a few mistakes along the way, but that’s all part of the process. Every match is another opportunity to learn and improve.

Lessons learned, mistakes noted, and now I know exactly what I need to focus on heading into the next match.

Metal Mayhem 2026 🔥

Another Metal Mayhem match in the books. 10 stages of nothing but steel plates/targets. Definitely not the kind of match that lets you hide your mistakes.

Once again, I struggled with my mental focus for the better part of the match, only really finding my rhythm towards the back end. I rushed shots and didn’t have enough sight patience on the smaller plates, which cost me valuable time.

To add to the challenge, I also had two failure-to-extract malfunctions that cost me even more time.

Despite the mistakes, it was another great weekend of shooting and a lot of fun. There’s nothing quite like small steel plates to highlight exactly where you need to improve.

Lessons learned and mistakes noted. Now back to work. 💪🏻

Proud and incredibly grateful to announce that I’ve been selected to represent the NGPSA Production Division General Team at the upcoming National Handgun Championships in Port Elizabeth! 🇿🇦

It’s a huge honour to represent my province at the national level, and I’m very thankful for the opportunity and for everyone who has supported me along the way.

I’m looking forward to two challenging days of shooting, competing alongside some of the best shooters in the country, and putting everything I’ve been working on to the test.

》NGPSA League 9

Had another enjoyable League match this weekend!

I had the privilege of shooting alongside the two top Production shooters in the province. It’s always a pleasure to share the range with these two, watch them shoot, and learn firsthand from the way they approach and analyse each stage. There’s a lot to take away from being able to compete alongside shooters at that level.

There are still a few areas I need to tighten up. Too many unnecessary mistakes and pickup shots on steel cost me valuable time and points. My mental focus is still something I need to improve. Along with pushing harder when existing shooting positions and getting my reloads more consistent.

Overall, another valuable match and another opportunity to learn, improve, and keep pushing forward.

Another awesome club shoot in the books! 🎯

A fast-paced and fun match with plenty of hosing stages, challenging shooting, and as always a great day spent on the range with good mates.

I feel like I’m currently in a really good place with my shooting. I’m shooting better than I ever have, and it’s great to see the progress from all the work starting to pay off.

There is still work to do, especially when it comes to maintaining my mental focus throughout the match. But overall I’m really happy with where my shooting is at the moment.

Enjoying the progress, enjoying the journey, and looking forward to seeing how far I can take it. 💪🎯

》NGPSA League 8

What an incredible and fun match this past weekend! 🔥

The 8th NGPSA League of the year had a bit of everything from close, hosing style targets to challenging long-range steel that demanded precision and patience.

I’m extremely happy to have finished 3rd in the Production Division with a score of 97.24%. To finish within 3% of two of the best Production shooters in the country is an incredible feeling and a huge milestone for me.

I’m incredibly fortunate to be able to compete alongside these guys, learn from them, and rub shoulders with some of the best shooters in the country.

That said, there’s still plenty of room for improvement. There were mistakes that could have been avoided, and a few areas that I need to put more focus into.

Proud of the result, grateful for the opportunity, and motivated to keep pushing forward. The work continues! 💪🎯

A solid day at the club match.

Nothing spectacular, but a consistent performance with very few mistakes. A couple of pickup shots on the steel, but no major errors, penalties, or Deltas. Sometimes it's not about chasing perfection, it's about putting together a clean, consistent match and banking valuable points.

Plenty to build on. On to the next one!

》NGPSA League 7

This past weekend's league was a reminder that IPSC is as much a mental game as it is a shooting sport.

From the very first stage, I wasn't mentally present, and it showed throughout the match. I made far too many simple, avoidable mistakes, poor target transitions, missed stage details, penalties I didn't call, inefficient movement, rushed shots, and even a malfunction that I didn't diagnose quickly enough. None of them were due to a lack of ability, but rather a lack of focus and discipline in the moment.

The biggest lesson from this match is that every shot deserves my full attention. Thinking ahead instead of staying present with the target I'm engaging led to unnecessary errors that ultimately cost me valuable points and time.

Despite the sub-par performance, I still managed to finish 3rd in Production, which I'm grateful for. It wasn't the result I was chasing, but it's a reminder that there is still a solid foundation to build on.

Now it's back to the drawing board. Time to refine the fundamentals, sharpen the mental game, and come back stronger. Every match, good or bad is another opportunity to learn and improve.

The work continues...
