Back in 2025 | Tumisang Shezi
Tumisang Shezi, a talented sprinter from Frankfort in the Free State, discovered his passion for athletics at a young age. He first competed in long-distance events for Falesizwe Secondary School before being inspired to pursue sprinting by his neighbor Thabiso Mazibuko and encouragement from his soccer teammates, who recognized his speed.
At the age of 16, Tumisang’s passion for track and field grew stronger after watching Wayde van Niekerk break the 400m world record and Akani Simbine compete against Usain Bolt in the 100m final. After relocating to Pretoria, he met coach Lefore Tabane, who played a major role in developing his sprinting career.
Since 2019, Tumisang has achieved remarkable success, including winning provincial titles in 2022, 2024, and 2025, securing three USSA 400m titles, earning a national silver medal in 2022, and winning three relay titles. He has also proudly represented South Africa at major international competitions such as the African Championships in Mauritius (2022), the All Africa Games in Ghana (2024), the World Athletics Relay Championships in the Bahamas (2024), and the World Athletics Relays in China (2025).
Driven by his family, faith, and ambitions, Tumisang continues to work hard toward greater achievements. Inspired by athletes like Akani Simbine and his training partner Anele Nzwanzwa, he remains determined to make a lasting mark in South African athletics.

Back in 2025 | Tshepang Busang
Tshepang “Gorilla” Busang from Mmakau is a passionate self-taught boxer who discovered his love for boxing at the age of 17. A former learner at Polonia Primary School and Malatse Motsepe Secondary School, where he completed matric in 2022, Tshepang has worked hard to build his boxing career despite lacking a stable gym and formal coaching. He briefly trained at the legendary Dingaan Thobela’s gym in Soweto and currently holds an amateur record of two wins and one loss. As the only active amateur boxer in Mmakau, Tshepang hopes to inspire young people in his community to take up boxing and prove that dedication and determination can overcome any obstacle.
