WATER QUALITY

With the (bad) quality of water in our immediate surrounds being in the news of late, residents are reminded that we have treated water, which is safe for drinking, available at the clubhouse should you want to go fill some bottles for use at your home.

Kind regards

MIX AND MATCH TENNIS TOURNAMENT A GREAT SUCCESS

The Silver Lakes Tennis Club hosted its Mix and Match Doubles Championship Tournament on Saturday, 17 October 2026. Registration started at 7:30 am, with games getting underway at 8:00 am. Each player received a bottle of water, an energy bar and hat at registration.

It was a fantastic day filled with fun, laughter and plenty of competitive tennis! The weather certainly turned up the heat, making for a challenging day on court as players battled it out in the scorching sun.

The final was between Hennie Reyneke and Yolande Reyneke, and they take on Katlyn Schroder and Daniel Schroder in a closely contested match. Despite the gruelling conditions, both teams gave it their all, but in the end, the trophy went to Hennie and Yolande Reyneke. Congratulations to the deserving winners!

To keep everyone fuelled for the day's excitement, each player received a boerewors roll and a soft drink before the finals.

A big thank you to our tennis coaches, Carla Smith and Xolani Thwala, for their hard work, dedication and commitment in helping to organise the tournament and ensuring that the day was such a success. Their efforts, together with the enthusiasm and sportsmanship of all the players, made it a memorable event for the Silver Lakes Tennis Club.

We look forward to many more fun-filled tennis events in the future!
