Melia Dros & Callaho Liam doing us proud at SANESA Nationals. They managed to complete a very tough and spooky Level 7 Working Riding test for the Gauteng A team.

Today we end the week with an immense amount of gratitude 🌅

3 years ago Wesman Stables opened its doors with only 8 stables available and the other 22 needing a huge amount of work before we could accept horses. Today we are incredibly proud and grateful to say that all of those 22 other stables are full.

This has been a long but VERY rewarding journey, filled with incredible highs and of course some lows.
However we as a team at Wesman stables cannot express how lucky we are to have the trust and support of our clients, friends and colleagues.

Thank you to our amazing staff that keep the pulse of the yard going. For believing in the dream and always pushing to make it a reality.

While we are not done with all the projects still ahead, we are able to say that we have reached one very big milestone today.

Onwards and upwards 🐎

What better way to start the day than a sunrise between a horse’s ears. 🌅

Fresh morning sunrise walks before the weather arrives in Gauteng today 🥶

Ragnar doing his thing. What a kind and soft hearted young stallion owned by the Akhal Teke Stud of South Africa at Landskroon.
He started the backing process and is taking to it so easily and sweetly. We will take it at his pace to ensure he is confident and happy. Dominique Tardin

Wesman Stables is very lucky to have 2 of the stud stallions from the foundation herd of Akhal Teke in South Africa.
If you’d like to know more about the breed have a read through the article below done by HQ. South Africa's Premier Equestrian Magazine.

This month, we begin at Landskroon, where a rescue effort during the war in Ukraine has grown into a breeding programme and South Africa’s first Akhal-Teke foal. From there we travel to Dartmoor, and ask what a distant welfare row can teach us about valuing the heritage breeds on our own doorstep.
