A gutsy showing by CoSACSA Gauteng athletes at the CoSACSA National Sakhiwo Zuma Track and Field Championship in the Western Cape.

The team secured an impressive 2nd position, bringing home 16 gold, 9 silver, and 8 bronze medals.

Despite challenging weather conditions, the team remained resilient and competed with determination throughout the championship.

Congratulations to Western Cape on taking the top spot.

We take this opportunity to extend our sincere gratitude to all the athletes, committee members, college officials, and supporters for their dedication and commitment throughout the championship.

The team delivered a strong performance, maintaining a top position is never easy, and finishing 2nd is a remarkable achievement.

Well done to our athletes, and a special thank you to our SRC and officials for their unwavering support during the competition.

We continue to strive for what is best for our students, empowering them to grow, excel, and reach their full potential both on and off the field.

We head back to our homes this morning, scheduled to land in Johannesburg at 13h00.

We go again next year in pursuit of position 1. For now, the focus shifts to Arts and Culture.

Preparations and training with our athletes from yesterday into today have gone exceptionally well. The level of commitment, discipline, and hunger displayed by the team has been nothing short of inspiring. Every session reflected growth, unity, and a clear understanding of the mission ahead.

Our technical teams and support staff have also played a crucial role behind the scenes, ensuring that every athlete is physically and mentally prepared for the challenge. This is a collective effort, and it shows in the way the team carries itself.

Now, we shift our full focus to competition as we prepare to defend and retain our championship title. The journey ahead will require resilience, focus, and teamwork, and we are ready to rise to the occasion.

The team will depart on the 18th April, with all members expected to meet at a central point at 09:00 am before traveling to the Western Cape Province for the national championship. Punctuality and readiness will be key as we begin this important journey together.

The Chairperson has engaged deeply with the athletes, emphasizing the importance of discipline, respect, unity, and representing the province with pride both on and off the field. The message was clear: talent alone is not enough, character, accountability, and teamwork will define our success.

We call upon all colleges, stakeholders, supporters, and the broader community to rally behind the team. Your support continues to motivate and inspire our athletes to perform at their highest level.

Let us remain united, focused, and intentional. Each one of us has a role to play in ensuring that we uphold our standards and achieve our goal.

The mission is clear. The team is ready. Now we go out and represent with pride.
