Parts of Gauteng and Mpumalanga also recorded unhealthy air quality levels for sensitive groups, indicating a potential health risk to vulnerable populations. SANSA Earth Observation: Advancing Environmental Intelligence Through New Decision Support Tools

In fulfillment of its legislative mandate to acquire, archive, process, and disseminate satellite imagery and to develop innovative Earth Observation products and services that address pressing societal challenge, the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) Earth Observation (EO) programme is finalising three advanced decision support tools. These include the Air Quality Management Tool, Disaster Management Tool, and Water Management Tool.

SANSA CEO, Humbulani Mudau welcomed delegates of the 2nd Space Weather User Workshop to the SANSA Space Weather Centre in Hermanus this morning. The workshop is organised by the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Meteorology Panel and include space weather information providers and users of space weather information from around the world to encourage improvements to the ICAO Space Weather Information Service.
