BRONZE BREAM/BLUE FISH IN THE EC
Area - East London
Hook trace - Maxima 20 to 40lb marine/ultra green
Hook – Land-it Octopus 1/0 or Octopus 1/0 4x (if there are larger reef dwellers in the area fished such as cracker)

A fish that can be a lot of fun to catch if fished with light tackle. Throwing a pink prawn bait with a 3oz into a good working gully which is known to have a lot of the “green weed” which blues eat, I hooked into a really good size blue. They are every strong fish for their size and give up a great fight right until the very end.
My favourite part about catching a good size blue is when he is really close and he gives you a last proper pull. Blue fish are up there with the most tastiest of fish in the EC.
Their bag limit is 2 per angler and a size limit of 30cm.

You need the 4x heavy hook to withstand the strength of the crackers jaw, these fish are incredibly strong, not just the fight but their jaw strength aswell.

With spring in full swing and summer on the way, we like to hunt with rods bending, tackle and human endurance test fish with sharks
We always hope the hook holds and does not bend or worse break when you hook into a very big fish.

For the same reason,I have been using the LAND-IT 4X HEAVY DUTY hooks for a good couple of years now. Ranging from a size 1 all the way up to a size 12/0 hook you are spoilt with choice with what hook to use for what occasion whether it be eds or non eds. They are razor sharp and ultra strong and can go the distance at a fraction of the price.

For this upcoming shark season, I have chosen the the 8/0 LAND-IT 4X HEAVY DUTY hooks for my live bait rigs depending on the size of my live bait. In the years that I have been using the LAND-IT 4X HEAVY DUTY hooks not one of them has bent or worse, broken and trust me I have tried. I have hooked into some monster fish with line parting and even 250LB steel bitten clean off like it was cut with a side cutter but not once have the hooks failed me.
