Tuksrugby is the page of the Tukkies Women's Rugby Sevens team's supporters. The Tukkies Women's team is a university/club team based at the University of Pretoria in South Africa and compete in international tournaments across the globe. The aim of the team is to develop the game and the players to ensure the highest standards possible for Women's Rugby. This page aims to promote the Tukkies team and the women's game in general and to promote gender equality in rugby.

In the last part of the Golden Era. At his stage rugby was interrupted by Covid for a while, but the team was at the top. In a match against a Scottish invitation side at the Melrose Sevens, the team displays what the SEVENS SPECIFIC conditioning meant to the team and the players. Again the intensity is kept up until the final whistle, with no signs of slowing down at any stage. At this stage the structure of the defence was also settled and the team was at the top. A true exhibition of skills and physical ability!
Sadly, this was also the time that SA Rugby decided to focus on the 15's version of the game and as a result, the team lost many of its stars and the conditioning also suffered, as it was not sevens SPECIFIC anymore.

The start of what happened to be a golden era for the Tukkies Women's team. The final of the Munich sevens on 2017. While there were good results before this, it was at this point in time, when there was consistency in the results for an extended period of time.
Note the high intensity from the team, from a time when focus was on conditioning for sevens specifically. One can also see there is no drop in the intensity even in the dying moments of the match. While this team was still not the "finished product", they made their opponents (a national team) look much look much weaker than they actually were.

Delport names Rugby World Cup Sevens training squad Springbok Women's Sevens coach Paul Delport included four players with previous Rugby World Cup Sevens experience in his training squad of 13 for the 2022 showpiece, to be played in Cape Town from 9-11 September.
