PROTEA TEAMS OFF TO PUERTO RICO!

SADSAA would like to wish our Protea Green and Gold teams safe travels as they depart South Africa for Arecibo, Puerto Rico, where they will proudly represent our country at the 57th Clásico Internacional del Aguja Azul, taking place from 28 to 30 August 2026.

This is a particularly special occasion as 2026 will mark the first time that South Africa participates in this prestigious international billfish tournament.

Our two Protea teams flying the South African flag are:

The teams will be competing against international anglers in the waters off Puerto Rico, proudly carrying the Protea badge and South African flag into this tournament for the very first time.

To Robin, Sam and all eight Protea anglers, we wish you safe travels, calm seas, screaming reels and an unforgettable tournament.
