They say that every road leads somewhere and that the challenge is to pick the right road…this was especially true on a recent trip Tosca took to the Eastern, Northern and Western Cape…some roads lead to busted rental car oil sumps, while others to beautiful old Karoo towns, interesting aloes and startled farmers. Never a dull moment in the not so ‘dorre droë karoo’

Peter has undertaken two fieldtrips to the Middle East in the past few months, as part of an international team tasked with planning one of the world’s largest conservation areas. The fieldtrip took place in some of the most scenic landscapes that the Arabian Peninsula has to offer…camel kisses anyone?!

In May, Peter undertook a fieldtrip to Mount Mulanje in southern Malawi, in preparation for developing a tourism plan for the Mount Mulanje Conservation Trust. At over 3000m, Mount Mulanje is the highest mountain between Kilimanjaro and the Drakensberg, and home to over 500 globally significant endemic plant and animal species. African Parks kindly made their helicopter available for an incredible aerial survey, causing much excitement amongst the local children.

Bryony and Peter undertook a trip to the Northern Cape, Eastern Cape and Western Cape, for EIA related work on a number of alternative energy projects in the region. After heavy unseasonal rains, the Nuleaf team discovered that the old adage ‘any rental is a 4x4’ is true. Or is it ‘don’t be gentle, get a rental and go mental’
