Apologies, haven’t been updating everyone a frequently due to Nats and other commitments.

G is doing his best at physio. He seems to have plateau’d a bit and the physio has to coax development out of him. He is hopping more than walking and we take him to swim between physio sessions.

But he’s stubborn and wants to please. So here’s hoping that he’ll be up and running by Christmas.

In preparation for the upcoming Nationals in PE, I’ve changed my fi***rm and needed to do some sighting and accuracy work to get confidence with the fi***rm.

One thing that has remained ever consistent, is Silver Rapids !!! The first 3 pictures are in order as I adjust my sights. I sight in my irons at 20m, freehand. And having a bullet that reliably goes where you want it to, is super important.

The last of the 4 pics is me doing a one hole drill at 5m, 7m and 10m. My 10m grouping could have been better and more deliberate, but it’s still within my perameters.

Also adjusted my C R Speed - Championship Winning Holsters JUST TO MAKE SURE!!

I can now go into nationals with the confidence that both ammo and fi***rm are at harmony with one another.

For those of you that didn’t attend Metal Mayhem, firstly, why the hell not?? Secondly, we are super grateful and humbled, but not surprised at the participant’s generosity! All this food has been taken to Wetnose Animal Reacue.

This will make their lives and the lives of the animals they help, much easier for the coming months! Thank you all!!

Good day all,

We are currently setting up for Metal Mayhem 2026. We are expecting around 300 people on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September.

This will affect range availability for the public holiday on Thursday 24th. We won’t have as many bays available and the 100m range will close from lunch time on Thursday.

We apologise for any inconvenience. Normal service will resume from Tuesday 29th.

Weekly Progress report :

Still not walking ❌
Exercise every 4 hours ✅
Physio twice a week ✅
He can move his legs in hydrotherapy ✅
He can stand for 10-20 seconds ✅
He can wag his tail ✅

There is some progress. It’s slow, but it’s progress nonetheless!

Pupdate :

His royal highness is not 100% sure about being shoved in Dad’s shooting trolley to go for a walk, but he’ll tolerate it.

Still not walking, but exercise at home every 4 hours. Hydrotherapy and proper physio twice a week. So let’s keep on trucking!

He may make an appearance at the range for Metal Mayhem Prizegiving.

Anco and myself made an informative video for you all regarding metal mayhem 2026.

I don’t think we need to say any more about that….

01/09/2026

I’d like to get ahead of this before the masses start chipping in on social media….

I was sent this today by a friend and instructor. This video is exactly why I am so picky about people on the range, range safety and reputable instructors.

What we know :

- I wasn’t consulted before hand about this “event” taking place at my shooting range. So much for professional courtesy….
- If you are going to advertise such an event, with my shooting range’s name on your flyer, ASK FIRST!
- Neither myself, Magnum United Shooting Range or Tactical Defence Institute condone what you see in the video.
- We are in NO way affiliated with any of the listed companies on the flyer, and once again, we weren’t consulted about this.

I can say a lot more about the video, but that isn’t the purpose of the post.

As an instructor, I can tell you for free, that if I paid for an “instructor “ to tell me “hang yourself” and manhandle me, there will be consequences. Instructors are there to instruct, teach, pass information and equip students with tools. Not be belittled and manhandled.

Lastly, don’t be an as***le on the range. There are many other ranges for people to be cavalier on, Magnum is not one of them.
