THE ROSELLA CUP

Another highlight of the past month was undoubtedly the Rosella Cup, now proudly in its eighth year.

The event was originally started by Ann-Margaret van Nieuwenhuizen and Chantal le Roux, and it is incredibly rewarding to see how it has continued to grow over the years. This year, 60 ladies participated, with three visitors kindly accommodated at the last minute following cancellations due to player illnesses.

The Rosella team once again went above and beyond, generously sponsoring more than R130,000 worth of prizes. Their incredible support makes this one of the most generously sponsored events on our Ladies golfing calendar.

The day had everything we could have wished for – wonderful golf, beautiful prizes, great company and plenty of entertainment. Our fashion show, featuring our very own ladies, was a particular highlight and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

The Rosella pop-up shop was also a great success and added another exciting dimension to the day.

A special thank you goes to Gawain for the beautifully presented plated lunch and for coordinating the waiters and sound system. Thank you also to Rocky from Bakehouse for his generous donation of three gift wine boxes, and to 360Link for the excellent hall setup.

The success of the Rosella Cup is a true reflection of what can happen when members, sponsors and the Silver Lakes team work together.

BOERE VS SOUTIES 2026 – ANOTHER ONE FOR THE BOOKS!

Silver Lakes Golf Club hosted the annual Boere vs Souties showdown on Saturday, 15 August, bringing together great golf, friendly rivalry and fantastic club spirit.

Led by captains Dereck le Roux for the Boere and Steve Cornelius for the Souties, both teams battled it out on the course, but the Souties successfully defended their title and lifted the trophy once again! 🏆 Congratulations!

The fun continued off the course with Best Dressed prizes, live music by Christopher Snow, rugby in the Members Lounge and the popular 68-metre chipping challenge from the Members Bar Patio towards the 18th green.
