For every woman whose light was taken too soon.

Last night, we lit candles in their remembrance. Each candle was a memory, a prayer, a promise that you are not forgotten.

For all the sisters(and everyone) lost to GBVF, We will keep your light burning.

MARCH FOR JUSTICE! 💜🕯

By the NWU Sporting codes in collaboration with the Sports Department, Women in Action, and Protection Services.

Details of the gathering are as follows:

- *Date:* Wednesday, 07 October 2026
- *Time:* 17:00
- *Venue:* Great Hall Lawn, next to the Main Gate
- *Theme:* Gender-Based Violence and Femicide
- *Attire:* Black and Purple 🖤💜

This is a call to solidarity from the sporting community. Inspired by the late Elizabeth "Tsontso," a fellow athlete, this march seeks to honour all lives lost to Gender-Based Violence and Femicide, break the silence, and walk in remembrance of those we have lost.

Let us unite in this movement and demonstrate our collective support for all systems that stand against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide.

The gathering will include a mass prayer. Attendees are kindly requested to bring a candle where possible.

Yours in Sports
