How many children skip today?
1. Improves Cardiovascular Fitness
Skipping gets the heart pumping and helps improve endurance, stamina, and overall cardiovascular health.
2. Develops Coordination and Balance
Jumping over a rope requires children to coordinate their hands, feet, and eyes, helping to improve balance and motor skills.
3. Strengthens Muscles and Bones
Regular skipping helps build stronger leg muscles, core strength, and bone density, which is important during growing years.
4. Enhances Concentration and Focus
Children need to maintain rhythm and timing while skipping, which helps develop concentration, focus, and mental alertness.
5. Boosts Confidence and Self-Esteem
Learning new skipping skills and improving over time gives children a sense of achievement and confidence in their abilities.
Skipping is also a fun, inexpensive activity that can be enjoyed almost anywhere, making it a great addition to a child's fitness routine.

On 31st July, we pause to remember and honour our beloved Norman Robinson, Shihan on the first anniversary of his passing.
Although a year has gone by, his presence is still deeply felt throughout our organisation, dojos and in the hearts of all who had the privilege of training under him. Norman, Shihan was far more than an exceptional karateka —he was a mentor, a leader, and a friend whose unwavering dedication to the art of Shotokan Karate inspired generations of students.
His legacy lives on through the values he instilled in us: respect, humility, perseverance, discipline, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. Every bow, every kata, every training session, and every lesson passed on by his students carries a part of his spirit.
As the JKS Federation of South Africa, we remain committed to preserving the standards, traditions, and vision that Norman, Shihan worked so tirelessly to build. His influence will continue to guide us for many years to come.
Today we remember him with gratitude, respect, and admiration.
"The true legacy of a teacher is not measured by what they achieve themselves, but by the lives they inspire and the path they leave for others to follow."
