Swingyde is a lightweight golf training aid designed to create the correct golf swing positions. Swingyde can be used whilst hitting balls at practice.
The Swingyde is the ultimate golf swing training tool, used by amateur golfers and seasoned professionals alike. It’s easy to set up and it doesn’t leave you looking silly with things strapped onto your body. The Swingyde is small and compact and can easily fit into the long side pockets of your golf bag when it’s not in use. The Swingyde does a few things well:
- At address, the golfer can see if
their club face is open, closed or flush by looking at the angle that the Swingyde is standing at
- It gives the golfer instant feedback on how his swinging is moving in relation to the ideal swing plane.
- It helps the golfer set the correct position at the top of the golf swing
- Swingyde corrects face alignment throughout your golf swing, which leads to greater distance, better accuracy and most importantly lower scores!
- It aids in attaining the proper wrist hinge at the top of the position and it can be adjusted for more, or less hinge, based on golfer preference
- On the follow through, it encourages turning of the wrists through impact which in turn helps to ensure that the wrists aren’t late through the shot.
- It also aids the golfer in swinging to the correct finish position and helps golfers who tend to ‘chicken wing’ or scoop on the follow through.
- It retrains the muscles used in the golf swing so the golfer starts swinging on plane. When swinging on plane with the wrists turning properly through the shot it’s much easier to hit a good shot.
- Swingyde is suitable for both right and left handed men, women and junior golfers.
- It works wonders in fixing slices and snap draws. By making sure that the Swingyde rests on the arm through the back swing and on the follow through, the muscles are encouraged to change the way they’ve been working because of the immediate feedback the Swingyde gives. If a person is swinging flat and under the ideal swing plane, the Swingyde will protrude past the top of the arm. If the golfer is swinging too steeply upright, the Swingyde will protrude underneath the forearm. The Swingyde can also be used in chipping drills. The exercise is known as the ‘training wheels drill’. The golfer straps a rubber band onto the Swingyde, fixing it around the club’s grip. This ensure that the Swingyde is pulled to the correct position on the backswing and again, after impact, on the follow through. It stops the player from trying to scoop the ball from the ground. Finally, the Swingyde also assist golfers in putting drills. By fixing the provided rubber band around the Swingyde and around the putter’s grip, it creates a space where the top hand slips into. The Swingyde then rests just above the hand on the forearm, creating a ‘lock’ position of sorts. This should discourage golfers who hinge their wrists when putting. With the Swingyde you don’t actually have to hit a ball to be able to practise with it. Because it helps the golfer to swing on plane, you can simply snap it onto the golf club and swing the club normally for 5 minutes a day. This will retrain the muscle memory and the golf swing will gradually start responding when the device is not in use. The Swingyde can help you fix your golf swing, fix your slice, fix your snap draw and when you’re hitting the ball straight, you will enjoy your golf more and you will play better golf. The Swingyde is endorsed by the late Jim Flick, renowned for coaching players like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Tom Lehman. Professional golfers on the USPGA, LPGA and Asian tour using the Swingyde include Zach Johnson, Paula Creamer, Wade Ormsby, Michelle Wie, James Kingston and Alison Nicholas. On the seniors tour you can see Mark Mcnulty using the Swingyde as well.
