"What a delightful morning. A fresh spring day, cheerful warm ups, RWFL Randpark responding enthusiastically to the mental health AAA acknowledgement suggestion and the community enjoying it, a fun walk up the hill( what hill?!)creating an audio book, very well stocked water table with old friend Carl in attendance, some prayers en route and then back to the club for the best news of all - Marty is cancer free!!! Brilliant"

We ran the Jeppe 10/21km race this morning .

It was a lovely, fresh morning out and the route was good!

Congrats to Jeppe and Balwin for an exceptionally well organised race... from race pack collection to race day and all the efficient marshalls and well stocked waterpoints on route. It was impressive!!

AND THE MEDALS... Wow😃 They're so big and super cool👍🏻

Well done to our team (& Mick) for your awesome results💪🏻👌🏻

Murphy Fundraiser 🐾

A message from Robyn...

On 14 September 2026, we hosted a 5km fun run at Randpark Golf Club to raise money for Murphy the service dog 🐕‍🦺🦮

I am very happy to say that it was a very successful event with 53 participants in attendance and just over R5000 raised.
I believe that if the weather wasn’t as gloomy, there may have been even more participants 😅☔️

I have many thank yous to give:
1. I’d like to thank all my participants, not only for showing up and running in the rain, but also all your donations. This would not have been possible without you
2. I also need to thank my mom and Run Walk for life Randpark for partnering with us for the event. My mom helped me a lot behind the scenes and really was my crutch through all this.
3. Thank you to Jacki, who also helped support me through all of this, organising the medic and volunteering as tail-walker (coming back soaking wet)
4. Thank you to Jordyn and Cam for helping with registrations and donations (and basically anything else I needed them for)
5. Thank you to Chey, Rachel, Lufuno and Jade for being my marshals and making sure people go the right direction.

I appreciate everyone who has supported Murphy and I on this journey ❤️🦮

Important message from Run/Walk For Life CEO, Matthew Grossett.

Recent events in Kempton Park (and at the MyRun in Sandton) should force South Africa’s running and walking community to have a serious conversation about what “safety” actually means.

Our thoughts are first and foremost with the families and communities affected.

But these events also raise an uncomfortable question that those of us involved in organised exercise cannot afford to ignore:

When we tell runners and walkers that they are “safer in a group”, what are we actually doing to make that group safer?
