Cape Ballet Africa premiers its highly anticipated production this August with newly added weekend performances, giving audiences even more opportunities to experience the grandeur of Tchaikovsky’s iconic ballet in Fourways. From breathtaking choreography to opulent sets and exquisite costumes, Swan Lake promises a theatre experience filled with beauty, drama and elegance.

I often have my students repeat an exercise a few times because of a small timing error or using the wrong arms. I know they sometimes feel frustrated with me. I prefer they feel annoyed with me and learn the importance of paying attention to and learning all the details of a combination - counts, port de bras, etc. than get cut at auditions and lose out on a dream job because they didn't learn choreography well enough.
