Rustenburg Chess Club is honoured to have hosted the Winter Chess Tournament, this yearly tournament has grown over the years and has inspired and introduced chess players into the world of chess tournaments.

Rustenburg Chess Club would also want to announce how the collaboration we have with Gereformeerde Kerk has brought so much success into this yearly tournament.

We appreciate all the participates and parents to came through to participate.

The collaboration between the Rustenburg Chess Club and Hoerskool Rustenburg has proven to be a game changer for scholastic chess in the North West province. By bridging community-level club expertise with school-level sports development, this partnership directly enabled Hoerskool Rustenburg to secure its spot as one of only two North West schools to qualify for the national Round of 16 in South Africa’s premier online school tournament, the Alexforbes Battle Boards Chess Championship-

This partnership highlights how local club mentorship can elevate school chess, transforming regional potential into national-level performance.
