Complete Marathons SA

Dear Comrades Marathon Runners and Supporters,

We are happy to announce that ConSports are offering the same services to runners and supporters as Complete Marathons SA. ConSports approached Complete Marathons who agreed that ConSports will fulfill the same service provided by Complete Marathons and takeover their existing 2018 Comrades Marathon runners and supporters services/bookings.

We would like to point out that you do have a choice as to whether or not you wish to utilize ConSports services. Should you wish to continue with the service your funds will be paid over to ConSports by Complete Marathons. However, you do have the choice of requesting a refund that Complete Marathons have undertaken to pay. It should be noted that Complete Marathons will be devoid of any liability should you accept ConSports offer. We kindly request that you email [email protected] of Complete Marathons SA with your instructions within the next 72 hours (3 days).

It should be noted that since the closure of Complete Marathons a couple of other clubs have offered their services however, none of the other offerings include a supporters package and nor do they offer/guarantee clean toilets at each of the stations.

At ConSports we provide fully equipped race day support gazebos to all athletes competing in the Comrades Marathon. These gazebos are set-up at 3 specified points along the route, allowing runners access to their pre-packed bags containing their own personal items and nutritional choices.

In addition to this the gazebos will offer refreshments and massage services as well as dedicated toilets for the sole use of our runners and supporters.

We also provide a full day supporters package for the family and friends of runners participating in the Ultimate Human Experience. This package offers supporters an opportunity to support their runners as they take on this challenge, whilst enjoying the South African hospitality and local traditional culture as well as experiencing the atmosphere of the Comrades Marathon.

Being keen runners ourselves and having participated in numerous ultra-marathons we understand the importance of having these support tables to get your required and preferred nutrition, as well as the importance of having that motivational and emotional support from someone who understands what you are going through and just giving you that extra helping hand on the day when the going gets tough.

Our team, headed up by Mike and Moira, have both been involved in running for many years and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure that you get the most out of your ultimate human experience.

Dear Ambassadors, Runners and Supporters,

COMPLETE MARATHONS SA 2018 SERVICE CANCELLATION

It is with a very heavy heart that I am writing this letter. After 5 years of dedication and developing the unique services of the Complete Marathons SA (Pty) Ltd brand together with the guidance of Bruce Fordyce, Comrades Marathon Association, and international ambassadors to Comrades we now have no alternative but to call it a day.

Prior to Comrades Marathon 2017, Mark and I decided to immigrate. We sold the lion share of the company and handed over the management control and the running of the business to Jameson Hlongwane, Errol Madlala and Sam September. For Comrades 2017, I stayed back in South Africa to assist and guide the partners through the 2017 process so that going forward they would be able to manage the logistics and the business seamlessly.

Unfortunately, I have been led to believe, that due to unforeseen circumstances, the new business partners, will not continue providing the services of Complete Marathons SA. This has left us with no alternative but to refund all parties for the services booked and to block future bookings on the site.

I am sincerely saddened by this and hope you will understand the position that we have been placed in. I will be reaching out to all parties regarding the refund and/or hopefully find or recommend an alternative. The good news is that we may have an alternative to offer and will keep you updated within the next few days. I am currently in South Africa trying to negotiate assistance for all runners and supporters.
