It was a special training session last night which was filled with laughter, memories, and heartfelt stories as we reflected on the profound impact our late Sensei, Stan Schmidt Shihan had on so many of our lives. We shared stories of his teachings, his unique character, and the countless people he inspired and positively influenced throughout his life.
Stan Schmidt Sensei passed away on the 7th October, 2019.
In his honour, we also trained some of his personal kata — a wonderful way to remember not only the instructor he was, but the martial artist and teacher who left such a lasting legacy.
Most importantly, we shared good company, plenty of laughs, and a great time together.
Stan Schmidt Sensei may no longer be with us, but his teachings, spirit, and influence continue to live on through all those fortunate enough to have learned from him.

This morning we trained in memory of our SA JKA Founding father Stan Schmidt Shihan. It would have been his 90th birthday today and tomorrow is the 7 year anniversary of his passing. We also remember our other senior masters that are no longer with us. We owe them so much. Oss
