Our new home, Vallora Equestrian! So so excited! Situated on the beautiful Dvine estate farm on the Du Toitskloof Pass rd, Paarl, it still takes my breath away to be so close to such beautiful mountains.

So when a big blue metal monster arrives to pick up your babies, you seriously question your decision making skills. I had no idea how we were going to convince the horses to get near it let alone in it!
It had been 10yrs since any of them had boxed, and none had been on a float before.
The first 3 however gave me some hope as the boxed without too much hassle... and then the games began🙈
But a huge shout out to the staff of Choice Carriers!!! They were so patient with the horses, learning their characters and skillfully spotting which horse would be suitable to box at which time. One by one they got all the horses in. Some just walked in, one was almost carried in and another decided the ramp was too scary and just jumped over it into the box🤣

With a huge sigh of relief , we were all on our way to a beautiful new home with many exciting adventures ahead!

Time for new beginnings and heartfelt goodbyes.

Andara is coming to an end.

Very unexpectedly, we were given an opportunity to move that ticked so many boxes for us – both as a family and for the animals. It was a huge decision made very quickly, but one we are incredibly excited about.

Sadly, our lessons are coming to an end one by one, and it’s been so difficult saying goodbye to our riders. Each and every one of them will always hold a very special place in my heart. ❤️

This truly marks the end of Andara. Due to a name conflict with a nearby wine farm, we’ve decided to start completely fresh – a new name, a new farm, and many exciting adventures ahead.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the Andara journey. Your support and memories will always mean the world to us.

Today we said goodbye to our special old girl Salty.
So much to say about her, she deserves a special tribute. I will do one soon, but my heart is too sore today.

Even though Solao was jumping like a dream, he was very slowly starting to head in the wrong direction. He started getting harder and harder to mount , at the block and with a leg up. His breaks disappeared at a canter and his go disappeared after a stop.
I quickly made the decision that we needed to make some big changes. Obviously we checked health and pain etc. Then we went back to the beginning of reschooling and rebacking him, along with a bit change and refitting his saddle.

A game of patience and understanding, but it was so worth it! He is now a completely different horse, not phased by much. Calm, easy to mount and easy to ride. Very responsive to the lightest commands.

Still such a sweet boy! Well done girls for patiently going on this journey with him, such a rewarding experience💙💙💙
