Fun provincial trail over the weekend at the local with the MAT riders dominating and getting the results in. Surfers like were all ripping and representing on the fishcakes, DoD and hybrids respectively. The winners were ripping the fun conditions on offer and has put on yet another impressive display of attendance and enthusiasm throughout the day. This year will be defending their vic bay quad tiltle and competing at seal point for the SA champs. Healthy looking team for 2026 makes the comp season ahead so much more exciting.

Probably the board I’ve shaped the most over the last 16 years. Rails, tail, fin placements, foil, and outline is super important in this shape. I love the feedback on speed, transition and turning ability and it’s all the same….. a all round board to have fun on and progress your carves and style 💥

We’ve been working on this high performance beach break board for 1 to 5 ft waves and taken the best characteristics of our DOD model and hipkabab 2.0 to give you the feel of a high performance board in below average conditions. Been working with Mike Bunn on longboards for a few years and our goal was for him to win SA champs in his devision. After the first session on his new board he told me “ mat man, I’m coming home with the title” pure confidence in your equipment and putting the time in with your shaper will give you the progression needed. We’ve finished the board in a couple of days for Mike and the rest is in the History books. We are calling this “the bun “ model.
