Mashiane: The red card that cost Chiefs Champions League still hurts me
Kaizer Chiefs starlet Happy Mashiane has finally opened up on his 2021 CAF Champions League red card that contributed to Amakhosi ultimately losing out to Al Ahly.
“I was really hurt there because obviously things were going to change. We were also going to have bragging rights of winning the Champions League whenever the topic arose,” he told Vodacom’s Ringa Nathi.
“What I went through was painful. Even now, I still get flashbacks but it’s something I’m fighting to put behind me every day. It’s been a while now and I am feeling better. The more I talk about it, the more I heal from the experience,” he said.
"I still believe that [Kaizer] Chiefs will win the Champions League very soon. It won't be long.
