Notification to all junior players and parents:

Tonight’s junior practice session will proceed as scheduled. We look forward to seeing you all at 17:00 at the Cloetesville Sports Grounds.

NOTIFICATION:

Kindly note that today’s scheduled junior practice session has been postponed and rescheduled for Wednesday, 18 March 2026 at 17:00.

This decision was made due to safety concerns, as the ongoing shooting situation in the area continues. At this stage, we cannot confirm whether conditions will have improved by Wednesday, but the safety of our players and families remains our top priority.

We will keep everyone informed of any further developments regarding the training sessions.

Junior players practice Reminder:

We would like to remind you of our upcoming junior players practice sessions commencing on Monday, 16 March, from 17:00 to 18:00 at Cloetesville Sport Ground.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time and to wear appropriate soccer attire, including soccer boots, shin guards, and to bring a water bottle.

We are looking forward to welcome current and new members to the Spes Bona circle.

Juniors players get ready!

Spes Bona AFC is pleased to officially invite all current and new players to attend our Junior Training Sessions, commencing on Monday, 16 March, from 17:00 to 18:00 at Cloetesville Sport Ground.

We are excited to begin preparations for the season and look forward to welcoming both returning and new players. Training will focus on skill development, fitness, teamwork, and overall player growth within a positive, structured, and supportive environment.

Players are kindly requested to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time and to wear appropriate soccer attire, including soccer boots, shin guards, and to bring a water bottle.

Spes Bona MRL secure first league win

The boys in black and white finally tasted victory, ending their winless streak with an impressive 3–1 triumph over the visitors.
After a tightly contested first half that ended 1–1, Spes Bona turned on the style in the second period. Christiano “Kitty” Sauls, Xavier McLeod, and Meeka Eel Witbooi all found the back of the net to seal a well-deserved home victory.

The win came with great joy and relief for the team, who can now build momentum moving forward. However, they know this result is only the beginning. With continued hard work, dedication, and hunger, Spes Bona are determined to maintain this progress and push for even better performances ahead.

IIt’s football weekend again for the Spes Bona MRL team. The hosts will set the stage against Real Stars from Ceres, as they look to secure their first home victory of the campaign.

The focus will be on building on last weekend’s result — delivering another solid defensive performance while remaining sharp and aggressive going forward. All the signs point to a positive outcome, with the boys in black and white confident, motivated, and ready for another tough challenge.

Come out and support the boys tomorrow at Cloetesville Sportsground — kick-off at 16:00.

Spes Bona vs Stellenbosch United stalemate in Cloetesville

The much-anticipated clash between Spes Bona and Stellenbosch United ended in an entertaining yet goalless draw. Stellenbosch United set the tone early, hitting the ground running with a well-organized and precise approach, while Bona initially struggled to find their rhythm.

Despite playing into the wind, Bona attempted to settle on the ball, but it was United who largely dictated proceedings. Their slick interplay and effective use of the full width of the pitch kept Bona under pressure. United, however, grew increasingly frustrated by their lack of cutting edge, proving wasteful in the final third.

Credit must go to Bona’s goalkeeper, who, supported by a disciplined and dependable backline, kept United at bay with a series of crucial interventions.

The second half saw Bona grow in confidence, producing a few promising attacking moments in an effort to sn**ch something from the game. Even so, United remained in control and looked the more likely side to claim victory, only to be repeatedly denied by an inspired Bona goalkeeper (Matthew Daniels aka Pokkels), who produced several fine saves.

Late drama followed when United thought they had found the winning goal, but celebrations were cut short as the effort was ruled offside. In the end, the hard-fought 0–0 draw was met with applause, particularly for Spes Bona, who stood firm and weathered the storm with resilience and determination.

The MRL season is back and Spes Bona is ready to go full throttle this weekend. It’s pedal to the metal from kickoff — grinding, battling, and hitting the ground running.

Expect hard tackles, sharp passing, quick thinking, and clinical finishing. It’s all about teamwork, creativity, and individual brilliance coming together for one goal: a strong performance and a winning result.

Football is back. The excitement is back. The cheers are back.
