Training players through constraints of injuries is one of the challenges S&C face on a daily basis. Here is an example of how we can give a strong neuromuscular signal through the upper body with a player whom have a gr2 elbow MCL sprain.
The flexed position is in a pain free range and the 3 sec max effort iso push allows significant stimilus to the system and tissue to maintain maximal strength levels and hold on to muscle size. 3 to 5 sets of 3 to 5 x 3sec holds will be sufficient. This exercise can also be done as a horizontal press.

A Practical Guide for Using Force Plates in Elite Sports - SimpliFaster Using force plates can seem complex and confusing. It really isn't. Coach Schuster shares practical information on protocols, setup, logistics, and data use to help you advance your assessments of athletes, particularly their responses to load.
Blood flow restriction (BFR) training is one of many tools you can use in the training process. This is particularly useful during ACL rehab where the process is anything but linear or predictable.
Some of the advantages of BFR training are:
✔ Retain strength + hypertrophy without high loads
✔Proven to reduce post-operation muscle atrophy
✔ Can begin with BFR protocol during tissue healing phase
✔Joint friendly strength training for highly active athletes.
Got this nice combo of BFR/Prowler from and putting it to good use with ACL rehab
Accommodating resisted training is an effective way for developing late Rate of Force development (RDF). The is a great tool to ensure intent in the movement and correct load to target appropriate stimulus (Strength speed in this case).
In the rehab setting RFD is targeted once an player have regained their pre injured strength levels and now need to produce that strength under time constraints that more replicate what they will face on the field.

Some slow SSC jumps for this week. Coming back from knee injury its vital to progress through a range of jumps including both high eccentric and concentric forces produced with limited time.
This is an example of a slow jump focusing on long contact time but producing significant concentric force.
