Position:

Head Coach



Reports to:

Director of rugby



Requirements:

• Level 3 Coaching Qualification (Rugby)

• Boksmart Accreditation

• To have coached at Super A level

• To have coached as a Head Coach for a minimum of three (3)

years.

• Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams and

individuals.

• Excellent presentation and communication skills with the

capability of being the primary spokesperson for the team.

• Strong commitment to professional development of staff and

players.

• High level of cultural awareness and capability to adapt to a

unique environment.

• Computer literacy relevant to the professional rugby

environment e.g. Excel, Powerpoint, etc.



Duties :

• Coach the VDE first team to a standard of excellence

that will compete in the Super league A.

• Develop, maintain, document and manage the training and

competition schedules of the team.

• Lead the players, coaches and support staff to maximise their

output in all aspects.

• Oversee the design and implementation of coaching strategies

and provide Assistant Coaches with the responsibility and

accountability towards specialist areas i.e. Attack, Defence,

Forwards etc.

• Develop a training schedule and match day preparation

programme to maximise team performance.

• Design and implement a pathway plan for players to excel from

the schools and clubs into the senior teams.

• Create a sustainable structure that will develop players,

coaches and support staff.

• Develop tactical game plans including weekly preview and

review with Assistant Coaches and Support Staff.

Maintain good relationships between the players and

members of the Teams (amongst each other) and between

the Team, Management Teams.

• Manage all coaching, training and Teams administration in

consultation with the Management Teams.
